The unions only business should be getting workers the hourly wages, and benefits they deserve, and keeping our jobs here in the USA. Not accepting empty promises to open closed plants the company has no intentions of reopening, but to win higher wages and benefits for existing employees, leading to higher union dues, bringing higher levels of money to the executive Union coffers. We need a high quality contract for existing workers, and not just try to increase membership because substandard wages don't bring the dues required by the executive union management. We don't need a million new workers with everyone making substandard wages and benefits, we need existing employee renumerations. Leave unemployment issues to to government, and investment in new products, and new/old plant openings to the business man. As a union we need to concentrate on the well being of the current membership, and not be left behind once we become UAW members.

If you don't own real-estate or have a large 401k thank a democrat for Medicare and SS with out either safety net we would not have much of a health care system, and many Americans would die and rot on the streets.

Codebreaker good points. You pointed out too me and others hopefully with less government involvement the people win not those who work in Government. I wonder where Americans would be if the swamp was drained? So those who go to the track/casino-instead of the 401k way are the people who will decide the election. The cycle continues regardless of the winner and you know the House/Senate needs to be drained
