What is it? Well, I'm not a ball player since I was a teen but sometimes I just shake my head at dumb mistakes I see on the field that cost teams games and me money. Not understanding situations - You the runner are standing on first base with one out in the B-10th of a 7-7 game. A ball is hit deep in the hole between short and third. By the time the SS makes the long throw to first you are already standing on 2B. And the throw is obviously going to bounce before the 1B gets it. It does, and he traps it and it rolls around between his legs for a few seconds. But after the play ends here you are Aaron Altherr you fucking moron, still standing on 2B! And of course when Bryce Harper makes a great catch on the next batter Jeff Francoer's blast into the RF corner, instead of scoring the winning run you only reach 3B, only to your team lose in the 11th.

1)What was done to Vit in this thread was disgusting. This thread had great potential, but when you have clowns like Casper and Lying Ace coming here to do nothing but disrupt it and hassle him, and the blame he took for simply getting attacked was beyond disgusting, but typical for this place. Something more than a gentle chiding or silence by influential people in this thread like you and Mich would have nipped it in the bud. A GTFO of this thread with your BS would have been effective, IMO. At least the attempt should have been made. Rest assured, if Finchy, or Aki, came into the thread the way those guys did, something more than Aki Don't would have been said, and it would have been appropriate. I had hoped this was the one thread down here where Politics and forum affiliations would be thrown out the window, and there would just be civil discussion with the intent of helping each other out. Sadly, I was wrong.

2)I am tired and bored of arguing with the stormfronters, racists, sexists, close minded fools who only see things one way, about Politics early in the NFL season when Football is on my mind 24/7. That will likely change at some point, but for now, I'm just not into it.

Could I just be ALL WRONG HERE? It's possible, and really, as a guy whose likely to go 0-7 tonight - lately I'm ALL WRONG a lot - I just want to say to Vit that if he feels I've treated him unfairly that was not my intention. And Vit, if you feel like I owe you an apology than here it is - I'm sorry. (Donald Trump is now reading tihis thread and shaking his head, "You're worse than 0-7, you're a wimp!") And I'm not apologizing because of karma, even if both my brothers warned me off gambling on a High Holiday. I'm not superstitious at all. What I would like, besides to remember what it feels like to research games for hours and be rewarded for doing so, is to have this thread head back to its original intent, a "talk about the games and lines and make your predictions" vacation spot from all the rancor (Zit's favorite PM word lol) that pervades every other thread in this section. So I hope you Guesser, and Vit both return.

2) I think the best thing I can say to everyone here, and this is for all threads - Give your best effort to talk to the person you disagree with as if he really is another person, and not the label you've attached to him. Yes I'm guilty too, but I think I try harder than the majority. We all box people as radical this, or fringe that. And when we travel down Label Lane what usually happens is we're no longer responding, we're reacting. And then repeating. I don't know how much money Vit, Ace, or Joe has. I hope all 3 of them are well off. But we'll never really know, so all these putdowns between them will never amount to anything. I'll bet the new guy Chaper can buy and sell all 3 of them. I mean really, the guy tries to come off as a novice from France. But he probably has a secret panel in a wall in his basement with 3 million dollars hidden in it ;-)

I appreciate the response. If Vit comes back in this thread, I will also, although it's probably all downhill from here for me in the NFL, as I had a really, really good opening weekend. But a fade is as valuable as a follow. Liked 4 Teaser teams and they all hit, hit a Bonus Play parlay at a sportsbook that gave me a Bonus Play from a Super Bowl bet that I had entirely forgot about, even hit a goofy money line parlay on Buff and Atl for shits and giggles, and I never bet those things. Got a miracle push with the Steelers. Survived in various Survivor Pools with the miracle ending in Dallas. Lost only one side (Ravens). I treaded lightly because it was opening week, but still did more than fine. Maybe it was Karma for the ridiculous Tyrod Taylor beat?

7:10 pm: Eagles over 14-6 last 20 reg season games. Philly just 4-6 ATS last 10 away. Atlanta 5-2 as home dog since 2013 & Matt Ryan is 7-0 SU/ATS in home openers in his NFL career.

10:20pm: San Fran, 1[SUP]st[/SUP] time as a home dog since 2011. 49ers are 8-2 SU and 9-1 ATS in last 10 MNF. Minnesota is 0-6 SU/ATS in last 6 MNF; 1-7 ATS in its last 8 games as a road favorite and are 2-6 ATS at SF

There were 2 games yesterday that had similar trends:
Arizona (similar to SF) Cardinals (near Atlanta). The Bills were close too, but stronger to where SF sits tonight. Will be interesting to see if the trends hold.

Last night's lines seemed way off the mark. I suppose public perception played a big part in setting them. The Vikings line made no sense what-so-ever and I have no idea why they got pounded to a favorite.

The strongest trend games this week were:

Oakland (always seem to be fools gold)
Packers
Falcons

Don't blame you at all for not posting anymore in here. I stopped for similar reasons. I still pop in to see who some like but it gets old reading the same BS from the same idiots on here every day. The horse forum has gotten just as bad because of 2 or 3 posters who have to insult each other day after day. Keeneland starts up in October and I will post plays in horse forum for that meet leading up to Breeders Cup on a regular basis. Good luck to those who continue posting plays here.

Whatever differences of opinion we've had regardless of who got elected prime minister, or what deal got signed I am sure that something in your life experience, values, whatever..... led you toward the positions you supported. It makes no sense for us, or for that matter any other posters to continue bashing each other so often over the same issues that it sinks to such a low level.

Updating some Stats:

Took DET last night as they WERE 64-21 after scoring 9 or more Runs.

The Pirates have 4 Games vs CHI before they hit the West Coast. I didn't play game #1. I don't want to sweat any misfortune toward the only guy winning in here right now. However......
The Pirates are now a mind-boggling 73-21 in the third game or later of a Homestand since 5/2014 (in effect today thru Thursday).
Also they are an even crazier 26-2 in the FINAL 2 GAMES of a Homestand that includes 2 or more Series (Wed-Thurs).
