The Cubs had just been Broomed in STL, then went to another tough Home Park and held the Mets practically scoreless for 3 days. Meanwhile the aforementioned STL team, having won their last 9 Home Games by a combined 36-14 score, lost both Games of a Home Series to a CWS Team that entered the Series 2-10 in their previous 12 Road Games by a combined 35-67 score. Just a small sampling......
