Poll: Will a large majority of Iraqis accept and understand their civilian deaths?
Fact: hundreds of thousands of Muslim Iraqi civilians were killed by the regime of Saddam
Fact: there are over 4 MILLION refugees from Iraq who had to flee the country
Fact: torture on a scale unimaginable to us was regularly practiced by the regime
Fact: approximately 30,000,000 civilians were killed during World War II, out of 55,000,000 deaths.
Hypothetical: if you lived under such a regime, and saw members of your family killed for nothing, or those of your friends and neighbors, would you support a war in which certain freedom would come at the expense of some civilian lives, if those lives lost were done so accidentally and on such a small scale relative to other wars that mankind has never seen it? Or would you rather continue to endure the regime, knowing that with Saddam's sons, you could expect decades of more horror, more tens of thousands of innocent civilians dead.
