With all due respect to our friends in other countries, Soccer puts me to sleep, like watchin paint dry. If baseball starts to bore me then I can get in to the stats in the game or analyze the cool strategys etc....but soccer? pleeeeze. I dont get . Kids today even in this country now play soccer instead of Football...REAL football, a mans game. Shove the ball down your throat , rip their heads off Football....but soccer. Not that there is anything wrong with that (Seinfeld). Not me though .Too Boring
The disdain for soccer in North America is a strange one.
One assumes it's generally because the North American sports culture is so ingrained into it's own homegrown sports that most other sports are looked down and frowned upon often with bewilderment and disdain. I can imagine some of you lot are thinking:
"A man kicking a ball around...where's the skill in that? Why doesn't he use his hands instead?" :lolBIG:
Football where the only contact the ball has with the foot is generally from the kicker trying to get the extra point or a field goal? Y'crazy. (/jk)

Football as you guys call it is a softies version/copy of rugby. Real football (more apt name considering they predominately use their feet) or soccer as you guys call it is the world's most popular game in terms of participation, viewing figures and world penetration. If the North Americans are too myopic to get it then it is their loss.
Soccer is nearly IDENTICAL to hockey without the ice. Think about it..its like a carbon copy. And did I mention no reason to wear protective gear in soccer cause , well, they really just kinda run around like my childhood toy called ELECTRIC FOOTBALL. They just move aimlessly around and shoot.:fballch3: Actually, Im just rubbin it into you Soccer guys, nothing personal, in fact I will try to see the World Cup and go in with an objective mind....for about 5 minutes.
