San Antonio Police Department officers are sending out a warning to operators of illegal 8 liner gambling establishments.
The department is cracking down on 8 liners and police promise more busts and more penalties if you're caught.
On Friday, police took 29 eight liner gambling machines out of Gold Touch Aracade on Fredericksburg Road.
Police arrested the owner after a three month investigation. They said she was illegally rewarding her winning customers with cash.
"It's better than playing the lotto," game room player Sam Solis said. "I've been playing the lotto for about four or five years and I haven't won nothing back."
Lonnie Fussell leased his building to the now busted gambling shop.
"It's a stupid law that makes it illegal," property owner Lonnie Fussell said. "It's illegal only if you win.
Even though he said it didn't hurt his optical business down the street, police said their new initiatives will keep the 8 liners from coming back.
"We're going to be doing some immediate, some very quick arrests and search warrants," public information officer Sgt. Gabe Trevino said. "But, we're also going to be doing some long-term tickets and felony charges."
Police said the bust is the first of eleven that are going to take place in the city in the next few weeks.
"Those locations that are within a 1000 feet of a school – beware," Trevino said. "You're going to have some detectives knocking on your doors very soon."
What's left of Gold Touch Aracade will now be replaced with for lease signs.
The property owner said he'll stay away from any new businesses using spinning screens or lucky buttons.
Police won't release the name of the woman arrested Friday until she's officially charged with the felony of organized criminal activity.
On future busts, police said they'll bring other agents who will take away the owners' ability to operate a business in the future.
