  • ESPN.com news services

Massachusetts State Police have apprehended and charged a man who pulled a fire alarm in the Pittsburgh Steelers' hotel early Sunday morning, authorities told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.
A 25-year-old Boston man has been charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and pulling a false fire alarm at the team's airport hotel in Boston.
According to sources, the man pulled an alarm in a stairwell near an exit at the hotel and jumped into a waiting car with two other men and fled the scene, but was quickly apprehended by state police.
The hotel was evacuated while firefighters checked the building. While many members of the Steelers were awakened by the alarm, the team was not evacuated.
NFL security officials were staying at the same hotel and were on the scene during the incident.
The Steelers will play the New England Patriots on Sunday night (6:40 ET) in the AFC Championship Game.

There are mean people living everywhere.

You are right-on Joe....including a few that hang-out at that Race Track in Rhode Island. Years back,I recall most of them had a cigarette hanging from their lip while they were pondering the scratch-sheet.

Just heard someone pulled the fire alarm at the Stadium in Foxboro. A little early for that or maybe the place is on fire.

Someone did same thing at the Carolina Panthers hotel in Seattle last year - didn't work out so well, and Greg Olsen mentioned after the game it really fired some of the dudes up

The old "fire alarm" trick......it's been around sports for a long time. False alarms are like stirring-up a hornets nest. Pittsburg will be one ornery (snarled) football team. Just remember how you were when you were woken-up in the middle of the night, that was a bitch.

I would be interesting to know if the Steeler players and coaches had to evacuate the hotel (in their underwear).....that would be real trouble.
