I think our big problem was always 2 fold, even though people disagreed with me the tournys always died so I could'nt be too far off.

A. once a week is too much, make it a special occasion and hype it up. A sponser would do wonders even if they only kicked in a small bit of cash. That would get more exposure and players.

B. Make the buy in 5-10 bucks. When you make the buy in 20 bucks many rec players shy away, that could easily be 1/5th of what they have on a site. Personally I'd go 10, right in the middle of a decent amount to win if the turnout is right and cheap enough everyone can get in

i was thinking along the same lines as you.....i could do up to $100.....i know some guys on here probably sneeze at that, but you run into the same issue at both spectrums: to some, 5 bucks ain't worth messing with, and to others, 50 is too much.....

it would be worth it to me just be able to talk shit leading up to it.....maybe throw a small bounty on every player you knock out, so i could show dante how they do it here on the okie/arkie state border

All the sponsors want something in return, there is no free money. In the game across the street that place throws 50 bucks in because if they get 10 players it will be the biggest game on that site all week...lol

We did it once a week for awhile a few years ago. The classic was when Mattster and Pylons went like 45 mins heads up. Might have been the most fun game ever....

The biggest problem always seems to be the time it runs...If its 7pm eastern its to early for the west coasters and if its 7 pm pac its to late for the east and putting it in the middle of the 2 didnt seem to help much....

okay, i lied.....like i said in my original post, i know this is primarily a sports betting site, but i got to thinking that i've been a member for over a year and haven't seen any type of poker event here even though we have poker sponsors.....a weekly or even a monthly event is of little interest to me, depending on how well i'm running, i would most likely be a regular no show no matter what.....

it would be more like an EVENT......the best sports gambling site on the net putting together a rare poker game for its regulars.....maybe do a march madness head's up type bracket for more shit talking rights....hell, try to get enough money in so the winner would get a free trip to the bash or something like that....

gotta do it fairly soon though.....i could be homeless come march
