I lost quite a bit last few weeks, and this week i went big to try and get it all back, and failed miserably. Im down way more that i can handle. I cant even afford half of it. Im 19, and if my parents find out they will kick me out of the house. I can no longer afford my tuition. These people are going to start coming after me. I need advice on what I can do. I have lots of uncles who are cool, but i just dont know what to say to them, and i dont know how they will react. U ppl have no idea how bad this situation is right now. If i emptied my bank account i would have paid about 60% of it. I still havent paid my losses from last week and part of week before that. Im not even going to throw around numbers.

All suggestions, advice and opinions, or even simmilar comfort stories are greatly appreciated. How would you act in this situation?

Thank you greatly

man up - get a job - pay your debts - stop gambling - then work
a couple jobs to get back in school.

Goto your parents and ask them to take out a loan for you. Pay it back even if it takes you years. Quit gambling now, because no offense, you are too young to handle it emotionally and monetarily.

have to respectively disagree with you. agree he should level with his parents but definitely they should not go into debt to bail out his gambling losses. it would be a very bad precident and you know a kid is not going
to work his ass off to pay back mom and dad.

Bro, this isn't the place to be asking for help.. This is a gambling forum filled with losing degenerates.. BY NO MEANS should you try to WIN it back.. You just did, and look where you're at now. Gambling your way out of this is NOT an option, PERIOD.

You're going to have to get a job and work as many hours as you can fit into your schedule out around school. Stop going out and partying if you do now. This is your first priority. If you are serious about them coming after you and you are in danger, paying this off becomes your first priority for now.

If you are able to pay this off, or in any case, you also need to stop gambling. Forever. And even if you were to have won your last chase bet I would tell you the same thing. It is clearly not for you, and you need to stop it now.

Talk to your guy and tell him you need to get put on a payment plan and make payments to him till its paid off. Work your ass off and get it paid off early. Your guy wants to get paid plain and simple.

100% agree with this. Books want their money and as long as you stop betting and pay them something each week you'll be okay.

MAN i've been there ONCE! Listen, you have to take some time off and stop chasing bet. The problem in Canada is they allow people that are too young to Gamble, not like in the states where you have to be 21. Believe me it was horrible that affected my entire life when i started gambling at the age of 19, i was in thousands of debts too. The bad thing about sports book is you dont feel that you're losing money because your not seeing the real paper bills not like in a regular casino. If i were you, you have to take a long lay off and think about the next steps. The way i resolved it back then is i followed cappers throughout and stayed patients until i went to plus side in about 3 years, be cautious w/ what you bet and you have to had SELF CONTROL. Dont worry you'll see lights at the end of the tunnel, call gambling hot line if u to seek more professional counseling.

get someone to co-sign a loan for you get a part time job finish school and for the time being stop gambling. If you want to learn about gambling follow Ace Ace he is very good and explains how it should be done. Never chase never bet what you don't have, look at wagering as an investment unless you just wanna have fun then play small for the thrill 25$ not more. good luck

There is some great information in this thread for you. Hopefully it hit home to you and you take it to heart. But remember this, that money you lost isn't the end of all. You are going to make a ton of money in your lifetime and you will be able to pay back what you owe if you just man up and TALK to the people you owe the money to.

Work on paying them off, build a bankroll..heck even if you work and have $1,000 to start with its better than nothing. Just don't think that there isn't a way out of this because there are thousands of gamblers that have been in your shoes before and worked themselves out of a situation evern WORSE than yours and lived to tell about it.

Just man up and face up and take the first step to resolving this. I know you will.

My personal opinion....never bet with bookies. Always bet offshore. This way, you have to put the money in your account up front. I bet with a bookie once, and the moment I realized I could bet on credit, well, you know how that turned out. Besides, you get a lot better deals betting off shore anyways. Challenge yourself, deposit $100 into a betting account, and see how much you can turn that $100 into. Your 19, and you don't need to be betting large amounts, especially on credit. 1998, the falcons played the vikings in the nfc championship game was my first bet...won $75 bucks. I was 25 years old. I'm 36 now, and just now am I starting to develop the patience that it takes to become sucessful, and it is still very hard to do to overcome that degenerate phase. I still struggle, but compared to when I first started, i've come a long ways, but my point is, it's took me over 10 years. Luckily this is a hobby for me. Remember, go small and multiply that bankroll. I've done it over and over again, turn $25 bucks into as much as $5000, over and over again. That way, if you do lose, you started small and it's no big deal.

Thank you all so much. I greatly appreciate all of your advice. I talked to my guy, and we worked out an arrangement, I will give him 10% of what i owe each week for the next 13 weeks. So i have to pay 30% interest over the next 13 weeks. This seemed to me to be a very fair deal. Also, I am working part time at a butcher shop. I will be able to get through this thanks to all of you and your advice which helped me work up the courage to explain my situation to my bookie. After 3 weeks of payment my account will open, but with a limit. Once i loose a certain amount in a week, my account will close for the rest of the week, as per my request. And believe me, the limit is not very big.

Thank you all very much, I could not have done it without you,
