This is actually partially true. According to the articles I've read, prior polls had the electorate wrong. The opposition did a remarkable job on turnout.

These machines aren't reliable so votes become flawed and thrown out. Also in poor areas where government ID is required to vote some of these citzens don't have IDS. Democratic votes are either thrown out, suppressed or purged. This is the biggest reason for the Bradley effect.

bradley effect is lying to the pollsters and then when your in the booth you vote for somebody else for some reason.

now here's why i don't think its legit today in 2008.

1. its 2008. majority of americans would be fine with a black president. if you got an elected official in the whitest part of ole miss that is black, then winning the pres is definently possible.

2. big one here. you dont have a mass movement going to the polls on election day. over 1/3rd of the voting public will have voted by election day.

3. i think any possible bradley effect would be countered by people voting for obama because he's black.

4. the biggest one. mccain is a republican. bush killed any of his chances. whether thats fair or not who knows.

??? The hell? The Bradley effect is nothing about what your talking about.

The Bradley effect is simply people saying they'd vote for Bradley publically then go the other way within the saftey of the polling both. The people never wanted to admit publically they'd "wouldn't" vote for a blackman until they got to the polls.

Why doesn't anyone from the left ever consider that the poll taking methods might be faulty or that the need of the MSM to bias the voter tends to result in a slanted poll.

Why is it in the past two Presidential elections, Kerry and Gore were leading in the months leading up to the election - is that also the "Bradley effect"? Or is it the main stream media spreading more propagandist bull shit.
