Pecking order
A year after sitting out the exhibition finale, Favre and the No. 1 offense are expected to play the entire first half against the Tennessee Titans on Friday night.
Though Favre will have played at least as much as he has in recent exhibition seasons and probably more, he said his number of throws this summer is way down from previous years. He estimated that he threw 1,200 times in camp early in coach Mike Sherman's tenure and 900 times this summer.
After Favre, three of the other four quarterbacks will play. Backup Doug Pederson, who has the No. 2 position wrapped up, probably won't play, but Sherman said he hasn't ruled out giving him a couple of series.
Sherman said he would probably give Tim Couch a series or two and then allow Craig Nall and rookie Scott McBrien to finish up.
"If someone is hot we might leave him in there; if someone is cold we might take him out," Sherman said.
This will be the last opportunity for the quarterbacks to make an impression. Rossley did not rule out the possibility that one of them would get a chance to play with the No. 1 unit.
