I sure do miss him but not as much as you....he was a player for sure....

That will be you in 20 years from now....hahahaha

Yeah we do miss the Old Fu*ker. especially when he would fall asleep on the couch with $50K riding on a game. lol

I'll never forget one year when we were in Vegas and the Host wouldn't pick up a $6.36 bill from the News stand. Not only did he lose him as a customer, the guy lost his job.
The old man said it's the principal of it and if it wasn't comped because of them being a 3rd party vendor, the host should have taken it out of his own pocket. I agree...

anyway, yeah miss all the stories, miss having him around.

as for me being him in 20 years, I probably won't last that long. Ha

The one thing I hate about craps play is the crowded tables with a handfull of people shouting .. I'm a small $12/ 6 player and use a silly count system.. When there have been eith a predetermined number of 6's or 7's rolled, I quit for the session/day. If I get 1 6 rolled before 2 sevens are rolled than I profit $2. Just a cheap way to have some fun. I know it's a -even game

Doesn't matter the size of your gambling. As long as you're having fun.

I always tell each Host I'm not giving you 4-6 hours of play each day. Comp me whatever you want and I'll pay the balance

There's no way a Craps player can play that long and come out winning.
and it's worst for a guy like myself, because when I go to say Vegas, I'm spending 6-8 days

I also don't play in the day time. I think the earliest I've ever played was around 5pm or so. VD was with us in AC and it was before dinner. ( it was also a way to stop him from eating all my pringles ) LOL

Normally when I am on a Gambling trip or a place that happens to have a casino, I will Only gamble at the tables After Dinner, or after dinner and a show.
You will Never see me at the tables in the day time. Even when we were in the Bahamas, one day we had a rainy day and the Host was calling me to say want don't you play a little... I told him, I Don't gamble in the day time.

That's good discipline: no daytime gambling if you're there for a week. But what does 4 to 6 hours of play per day get in the way of comps as a general rule if there is one?

They want you to play 4-6 hours to cover comps
Vegas usually 4 hours per day.

It also goes with bet size at some places.

a place like yours is probably looking for 4 hours of play.
If you are a $12 a number player and playing 2 numbers per roll ( are you also playing the Pass line ? )

a $25 avg. at 4 hours a day will probably get you Your Room for free.9 Sunday - Thursday ) maybe even a discount on a meal

Thanks BAS, They sent me a voucher for a match play from 10 to $250 to be used by Dec 3rd.... I probably played 4 hours or more a day, but didn't give my card each time as one of the dealers only wanted to talk sports betting... I'm an old fart and needed to concentrate. Can't do the 3rd... Loved my visit..Actually won a small bit at the tables

ALWAYS hand over your players card if you are trying to build Comps.
doesn't matter if you are at the table for 15 minutes or 5 hours

Yeah was much better back in the day. Comps not as loose as they use to be.

Shit I remember when you didn't even have a players card. It was a Business card of the Pit boss. They would get you Anything you wanted

It had been many a year since I visited Atlantic City.... It could be my age but the local flavor of Dover, De. seemed so much friendlier than AC, back in the day... Take that with a grain of salt... The crap dealers work their ass off at a crowded table... Most or many craps players just seem to never have enough bets covered-working and it's a ball busting day at a busy table..So my hat is off to the way they treat players with decency..

I probably play once or twice a year in Vegas so my sample size is small. That said I rarely see a don't pass guy lose, almost the opposite.

How about the guys that lay 2-1 on the no 4 and 10. Ever see anyone successful with that strategy?

I salivate when I'm on the don't or the DC and 4 comes out. I load up. And then I usually "hedge" a tad by playing the hard ways. Only one roll can beat me at that point. And it does plenty of times.

Giving the house 5%, one of the worst strategies at a craps table. You're paying a 5% vig to get true odds. Marginally better than one roll bets :)

Having said that, unless you're playing craps 20+ hours per week every week, just have fun and play whatever's working for you. It's just not a game that you need to play perfectly like say blackjack. The swings are much more significant and shit happens.

Your comprehension needs a little work, or maybe you're "that guy"

I don't think it's a terrible bet. First of all if your paying 5% vig always (win or lose) the house edge is only 2.44%. If your paying 5% vig and only when you win, the house edge is only 1.67%...... Your statement is like saying playing banker in baccarat has a 5% house edge when it's really a little over 1 percent.

I don't don't (maybe 1 in 10,000) and I never once "layed" a number, so I didn't give it much thought. You're right, anywhere but Vegas the vig would only be 2.44% and not 5%. It would be less in Vegas

He sounds like a guy that thinks it's cool to dance up and down the aisle and taunt people when the opposing team scores at a football game. Then he wonders why he gets hit over the head with a beer bottle in the parking lot after the game. And yes, his comprehension needs a lot of work on playing craps and what this thread is about.
