A friend of mine placed a bet at PlayCR,it was on a horse race ... 3 minutes before post-time ... won the wager and the book DOESN'T WANNA PAY !!! more than 3 weeks... AND HE WAS TOLD THE BIG-GUY WAS GONNA CALL HIM .... MY QUESTION IS ... WHERE ARE YOU GORDON!!! No call, no answers ... no payment ... a couple of days ago ... someone called him to advise he will not get paid ...
What kind of sportsbook is this ... PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFULL WITH PLAYCR ... SINCE ANOTHER FRIEND HAD TO WAIT 9 DAYS TO GET PAID $1000 ...
THIS IS REALLY AMAZING ... IF THEY DON'T HAVE MONEY WHY DON'T THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS ... INSTEAD OF CHEATING ON THEIR CUSTOMERS

****PAY THE CUSTOMERS ... OR CLOSE YOUR CIRCUS, SINCE THAT IS WHAT YOU GUYS ARE ... A CIRCUS!!

Yes Wil, it is a credit situation, but the main problem is that my friend called 3 minutes before post time ... the clerk TOOK the bet!!! So what it the problem with THEM!!! they should pay for the wager ... He was told this guy Gordon was gonna call him ... but never did ... What a joke!! Do you think is fair that once you LOSE you PAY, but you WIN and they take 3 or 4 weeks to think about if they SHOULD PAY YOU !!!

Many times sportsbook like to have a 5 minutes safety time because of the difference in time there might be between them and the track, they might be using that excuse, tell your friend to ask for the tape so they can compare post time in the readback and the actuals post time.

i have been waiting for this guy or his friends to write in. here are the facts.first of all there is a history with this man. he bet our sportsbook a couple of years ago. he placed a bet for a nickel, and after winning the wager- insisted a nickel wager meant 5000 dollars. we gave him the 5000 if he promised never to call again.
well here he is again-coming in under a different agent. he never bet a horse with us before in his life. on june 13, he placed a wager on the 6th at louisiana downs. the wager was accepted at 5.36pm eastern time. the race off at 5.29 pm eastern time. that was 6 minutes past post. the clerk and our software programmer--digital gaming solutions--both acknowledged the race was ungraded and the bet permitted to be entered 6 minutes past post. the clerk resigned amid allegations of a conspiracy.
and here's the kicker--the bettor claims he arrived at his home just after 4pm and got the bert in at 4.15 pm--almost fifteen minutes before post.hahaha--you see he was looking at equibase where the posted times are local. he saw the post time listed as 4.29pm so he thought his story would fit. however, since 4.29 was actually 5.29 eastern-- he lives on the east coast,, his story was an hour off.
the reason for the delay in the final decision was an internal argument of whether the company should take some responsibilty for accepting the wager. but the clerk's confessions and the bettor knowing the clerk's name--while never betting a horse beforeand the hugh discrepancy of 6 minutes past post-proved just too shady for comfort.

On the readback, a nickel if used as a gambling term, should be $500.00. 5 dimes, $5000.00.

That being said, why would your operators accept a bet for a nickel or a dime? The operator needs to make sure what exactly a nickel or a dime represents.

Of all the books I have dealt with, one must specifically state their intentions on what they would like to win and/or lose. No misinterpretations.

While I believe your story, you lose some creditibility by admitting to this fact. I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.

i said years back he bet a nickel on a sporting event--and the tape said a nickel. he claimed saying a nickel meant 5000 dollars. we laughed but we his agent was one of our biggest--so we gave him the money if he promised never to call again

You are a perfect examply of why this sportsbook is 3rd tier. You don't call out a potential customer or anyone reading this forum, to "get some intelligence."

I understand he made a NICKEL play on a sporting event years back. But MY POINT is, on the readback, a NICKEL bet should have been converted into DOLLAR $$$ amount, to signify what a NICKEL meant. If you or your sportsbook failed to do so, then you have room for error.

I made this quite clear in my first response to you. Perhaps if you would have taken the time to read my original response and not be so quick to jump the gun, you would have saw that.

ALSO IF THE BETTOR KNOWS THE CLERKS NAME, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THAT ??? HOW MANY TIMES DOES A BETTOR CALL??? HOW MANY TIMES THE SAME CLERKS ANSWER THE PHONE??? AND TELL ME SINCE WHEN, WE AS BETTORS CAN'T KNOW THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE TAKEN THE BET ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PHONE?? GIVE ME A BREAK !!

a nickel means $500 , now, the book should listen to his previews calls to see what terms he used when betting...if you find any "nickel" bets that he lost then charge him $5000!

teller--how can the bettor know a clerk's name when he NEVER called and spoke to him before.
again he claimed to put the bet in just before the race went off--bettween 4.15 and 4.30 pm eastern. well the race left an hour later 5.29 eastern. perhaps immorality is a part of your daily life. perhaps you are in bed with this particular gambler.
he wagered on an event that was over. win or lose it's no bet.
i would be delighted to invite you to our office in order for you to see and here all the documentation of this thievery.
i have the evidence. you have only a story

General-
Please edit out theteller's use of real names. He is a supposed newbie, but that is a violation of the basic rules in these forums.

theteller-
Did you even read daddyincr's post? The clerk knew what a nickel was (that's why it was in the computer as 500). It was the customer who lied and claimed he thought nickel meant 5000. Obivious lie, but PlayCR bowed to the wishes of a top agent.

Chalk_eater is right that the clerk should have read back 500 instead of nickel, but that's does not excuse the player from trying to scam. If a guy tried to pull this on me, I'd give him the choice of nickel =5 cents or to stop being an a**shole.

daddyincr-
I've known you guys for years. You run a solid shop and always bend over backwards to accomodate a player in a dispute.

A past-post is not a valid wager, whether it was "accepted" or not. By definition, all acceptable wagers must occur before the event starts (and certainly before the even has completed). This forum has consistently defended the books when the line was way-off and obviously a mistake. Well, a past-post is even more off.

theteller is scamming. PlayCR is solid.

I sounds to me that they are making a final decision because the agent asked for all the particulars (time of wager, clerk, listening to the tape, etc.). Also, the book does have some share of the expenses in its deal with the agent, so they are certainly entitled to weigh in.

In some cases, if a book and an agent disagree strongly, one side could choose to eat the entire bet and pay the player.

Given the info Daddyincr has presented, anyone would be foolish to pay off on this past-post.

PlayCR may in fact be a solid out, however daddyincr lacks professionalism and make the book look worse than what in fact may be.

2 things that stand out to me. The readback is FINAL. A nickel should have been translated into a dollar amount. And finally, if a bet is taken before post time, it should be honored. It is the job of the clerk and the book to check post times and to take it off the board. Otherwise, a problem like this can occur.
