I'll be hanging around the PH sports book most of the weekend. :suomi:

GD,

Have they done any work or moved the sports book in the last few weeks? I was there 3 weeks ago, and it appeared to be in a temp. location up the escalator by the high limity area and not somewhere I would would hang out most of the weekend.

Yes Hal,
They moved it downstairs about a week ago. They are still doing a little work here and there. I walked through there today and they were moving some machines around by the book. I imagine they were doing it during the week while it was slow.
know the temporary book upstairs that you are talking about. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the new location and the look of the book like I was.

I met Doberman once and said hi at the IP. a few minutes later Im trying to put in arena football picks there ( AFLGurus plays naturally, I dont know shit about this) and some assistant manager came over and limited me he would only take like $200 on totals and $300 on sides.

I thought it was funny, especially since I was so cold at the time frozen would be an understatement. they should have increased my limits gona across the street faded me and bet more.

badweek for AFLGuru my limited picks went 0-5 :nopityA:

Don;t eat at Planet Dallies Cafe

14.50 for bacon and eggs and the service is slow to say the least and I guess since there were 7 of us the gratuitie was with the bill.

The buffet was all right as all I had was seafood, oysters, scallops and king crab was $67 for 3 of us.

The cheapest meal I had all week was an $18 pizza from a deli in miracle mile added with a 6 pack from the abc store.

Anyone who has ever been to Hawaii knows about the abc stores they rock!

Anyway if you can stand the mile from hell I call it(to much walking and the ladies shopping not my thing)eat there.

The deli with the pizza is just a few steps from casino in the MM and they have internet pay by the minute out front.

There's a restaurant in the Miracle Mile shops called *something* *something* Cheeseburger *somethingorother*. They do the same breakfast for around 8 bucks. Still high, but not as much, and the place is far quieter with much faster service.

I ate at the Spice Market Buffet. While I thought it was rather good, the price was $26.99 + tax. I also ate at the Planet Dailies diner and thought that was reasonable. I had a breakfast and it was under $10.

The Harley Davidson BBQ restaurant (billed as the best BBQ in Vegas) was a block south of PH and was pretty decent as well.

I'm really happy GD took the time out to post this. It definatly has me looking forward to next week even more. I bookmarked it, in fact.

We are only 10 days away!

The cool thing is I dont even have to leave the Hotel. AT ALL.

Planet Dailies- PH's coffee shop. Recently remodeled and features a bazillion plasma TVs showing either sports or entertainment shows.

The only unpleasant part of my stay at PH was the coffee shop.
Cost me nearly $20 (with tip) for steak and eggs and they messed up my order. Above average prices with below average service.
It was a late Sunday morning and every TV was on soccer or CNN. I kindly asked the hostess if they could put on some baseball. That went over like a lead balloon.

I ate there also-the service was somewhat slow, and the prices seemed a little steep-but the place(hotel rooms) was sold out. Quite possibly a case of growing pains.

Two or three years ago, I got an awesome deal that the MGM that included a $50 food credit(I could swear the room was only $69). I hadn't eaten there all weekend & decided to hit their breakfast cafe. I blew threw the 50...FOR BREAKFAST!

I thought it was a scam to nail the people who didn't stay there & get a credit, but maybe it's just the way Vegas is going. Logic tells me that they are trying to see where people stop paying it, and being Vegas & on the strip, I see it getting worse before it gets better.

Gotta love the strip, $1 beers at one place, $7 a couple blocks up.

The line can be brutal especially for breakfast and always on weekends, if you just want crepes, there is a great place rite across the hall from the buffet in the $5 range.
