Hey guys,

Was wondering if you have recs for places to stay in Vegas. I've never been, just 22 years old. I'm planning on going with some friends over the first weekend of March Madness. I was wondering if you have any recs for hotels. I'll probably be headed there with my gf and a friend of hers so hotel "accommodations" are more important (no roughing it in the motel 8).

Choices are nearly endless.

I stay at the MGM Grand only because they comp my room, but I probably wouldn't stay there if I was 22.

Even if you want to spendy or cheap you have to stay MID strip...Caesars is my first choice..but Bellagio, Paris, Ballys or if you are on a budget, Flamingo or Imperial Palace..not high end hotels but in the heart of the action... stay away from somewhere in the middle of nowhere like the Stratosphere....

Go downtown at night to walk around but don't stay down there. JMI

I always stay at Caesars Palace ...love that place.

Good question, should've clarified earlier. For me and my buddy, gambling (sports and table games). For my girlfriend and her friend, something to do during the day - spa, etc. All four of us like to go out at night and I'm sure I'll convince them to play some craps or blackjack some night. We're all college students so budget is always on the mind, but we wouldn't be going if we wanted to save money.

I'd like to wager on some bball games for sure and I like playing craps and blackjack...not surprisingly I could care less about slots/Keno/etc. My girlfriend would definitely not be into gaming during the day so she needs something to do (ideas would be great from those of you who went with SOs).

Stay at Caesars.. The shops at the Forum of Caesars are great..they have great spa also...keep in mind though, Vegas IS very spendy... so prepare yourself. ...too bad you are not going a little later in the year..the Vegas pools are great. . Also enough touristy things near by mid strip ... fountains at Bellagio, Paris, gondolas at the Venitian...Maddame Tussards..

being 22, I would tell you to stay at Palms or Hard Rock. I am not sure if Palms has NBA wagering though, I believe they now do except for Kings games. Neither are on the strip and HR sports book isn't very good, but they are both younger crowds and more fun/hip than any other casino.

You need to ask the forum where the lower limits are as that weekend the town fills up and you'll be lucky to find a $10 minimum table.

Downtown has the lower minimum's and the girls will have fun on the midway(what the hell is the name of that street?)as live music, laser light shows and so forth.

99.9 % of the Time I stay at the Mirage.

Not saying the Mirage isn't a Good place for Young people, because there is Plenty of Young people there.

But I think you would have a Better time at maybe the Palms or Plant Hollywood

As far as I'm concerned The Hard Rock is the most fun - at least in the summer - no lone likes Mandalay? - I stayed there for the tournament one year and it was great

Seymour, you should caution the kid that Hard Rock is off the Strip and he will need to take a cab EVERYWHERE (assuming they leave the Hard Rock).

Dude, if you are in your room for more than 4 hours your entire trip, then you aren't doing Vegas right.

With that being said, Circus Circus is the place to be. That place is MONEY.

Mandalay is good too, but they have gotten to be a real pain in the ass with their comps and their customer service has gone to shit. Plus, their regular pool blows, too busy, too many kids and too much noise. The nudey pool is good and has a good vibe though.

Should be warm enough in March that the pools are good. HR pool is always a good time.

It's actually not that warm yet to go in the pool for March Madness - that's why the Hard Rock might not be the best place
