What a game. Figured Detroit would win when they were down by 1 with 8 seconds left and the ball. Thet had the opportunity to, but Rip tried to take it to he rim and when he found himself surrounded, instead of kicking out to the corner for a Billups 3 attempt or long 2, he flops and cries foul. Clearly was not fouled and Ben almost tips its in. They deserved to lose scoring only 13 points in the 4th quarter when being up by 6 to start the fourth.
No way Cleveland wins it all next year though. One or two games mean nothing. When Sacramento made the Spurs look like a weak team in Round 1, the Spurs regrouped and won the rest of the games to move on. Same thing will happen here. Expect Detroit to win game 5 going away, then win at Cleveland in game 6, if not, for sure game 7. Snow, Varejo, Marshall and Gooden is just not all that great of a supporting cast. Plus no bench help really.
