I cant remember who wrote this on the forum but looks like he was dead on with the Pirates. When they are on the road, they lose the 1st game, win the 2nd and always lose the third before packing it up. Great trend from whomever said it...

Please be careful of what you read here Barber. I know you're trying to help but the Road LWL pattern for Pitt is just not accurate.

Pitt in any series on the road this year up to the All Star break:

1st game 5-11
2nd game 5-11
3rd game 5-9 (where applicable)
4th game 1-2 (where applicable)

What is true is that Pitt stinks on the road this year thusfar in '09.

Good luck.

regarding the Buccos it'll be interested to see if they fall apart after the all star break, as usual

last year they were swept in a 4 game series at Colorado following the break

in 2007 they were swept in b2b series' against ATL and COL, losing 7 in a row and 10 of 11 following the break

in 2006 they were a respectable 5-5 after the break vs WAS, COL, and FLA before imploding in August

in 2005 they dropped 3 of 4 against Chicago before getting swept by Houston for a 1-7 start to the 2nd half of the year

I bet 2009 brings more of the same. They'll have no prayer against Cain and Lincecum and small shot against Zito. Then they play Milwaukee who routinely dominate them...I believe it's something like 19 out of last 20 meetings

Well its weird though they somehow seem to come up with strange wins and it just seems that they hapen to win in game 2...even though the record doesnt show that. Maybe i have not stated what i read accurately though...wish the person who wrote that woudl reply to this thread.

They only stink on the road.

They are 22-17 at home. That's a better Home winning percentage than 12 other NL teams. Only the Cubs, the Dodgers, and San Fran have better Home winning percentages.

At home they have won 8 series while losing 5.

Does anyone have the stat or know how many road series the Pirates have played todate and how many of those series have they won?

I actually have the numbers for the Pirates road series. Todate the Pirates have played 16 series away from home and their record stands at 2-11-3.

I chase the pirates to lose on the road. been great so far...will not go any farther than aug 31. too many variables after that with sept callups, etc.
