Pinnacle posted a future wager on a college team at 8 and 1/2. Wellit opened at +100 then closed at -180! After taking action all day they decided it was the wrong line and cancelled all wagered on Oaklahoma State! And said it was supposed to be Ohio State! Pinny says it NEVERS and can't cancel a wager after it has been posted guess what they lied, lol!!!

I dont see how this can be considered a bad line.

I see Olkahoma St. winning anywhere from 6-9 games this season.

Before jumping to conclusions of any kind, lets await to we hear Pinnacles explanation of this if this indeed did occur.

Thanks Jimmy for bringing this up sir.

Welcome Fishy! The play was under 8 & 1/2 on Oak. State at +100. Closed -180. If it took all day to realize it something is wrong! No other shop posted total on colleges! What was this line compared to?? Only alternative they have is honor it! My local one time gave me a wrong line and I hit for 4 dimes on a over by halftime on a Giant/Dallas game! I was already up 8 dimes for the week and didn't mind him squashing the play but he said I GAVE YOU THE WRONG LINE I'LL EAT IT! Thats a #1 Book! Pinny should HONOR this wager !!

Jimmy- If it is like you say, I agree with you 100%.

To be fair though, lets wait till we hear Pinnacles reasoning in this matter.

Thanks again Jimmy.

Jimmy- I am going to get Shrink or the General to find out directly from Pinny what their side of the story is since they have a better working relationship with Pinny than I personally do.

Thanks for your patience Jim.

Email states a WRONG LINE but it moved from +100 to +180. This is a significant line change, not questioning anything just think THEY SHOULD HONOR the wagers placed on their mistake and take action against the person who posted this line! They took the Oak State total off the board all together supposedly!

Despite them being the so called number one book around they still have the same clauses/rules that all the other places have.

Rules 2 & 3 cover this action. Even if it isn't an obvious bad line, they can fall backon rule 3 and that says they can refus, restrict, limit, or cancel ANY wager they want to.

So while people like to hold themto some higher standard, they are still in it to make money.

It also proves they aren't as "sharp" as all you people want them to be. It took them all day to figure this ot. I am sure their software is designed to see extreme money moves and to alert them.

Not to mention that the limit on this future is only 500 bux. So to be bured one way they would have needed to take a lot of bets on that thing.

And my final comment, how much would it take for them to move from +100 to -180, and if they moved it that much all day why didn't they notice it before they took it down? People like to throw around that they take BILLIONS in action in year, so if this side took say 40 max bets at 500 a whack that means a 20 thousand dollar overlay. Is that really worth all the negativity this action will raise? Of course I am guessing, but if they did take more than 40 max bets then it raises even more questions. As in, why did it take so long to notice it? Why not just move theline to a more respectable number when it got out of hand? It may open up a middles shot, but if caught soon enough that could have been averted as awell. Plus you have to think of how many guys will actually try and middle them in the first place.

While it looks like a small detail, it raises some questions, and it definately takes the argument that Pinnacle is run by "geniuses" off the table. If what you say is true there were "mistakes" made on MANY levels here, and it definately raises some questions as to what isgoign on over there these days.

Like I have said here in recent weeks, their line moves have been all over the place, and they are more volatile than they have ever been.Moving 5 cents one minute, then right back down to the original number 10 minutes later. I speculated on what this meant, but when added to some of the other stuff I have seen there it raises eyebrows.

Obviously we will get the gratuitous "pinnacle is the best in the world" posts, but these guys basically aren't looking at all the small details/mistakes that Pin makes eash and every day, especially when it comes to correlating odds. Which for all intents and purposes a future bet is.

I am 100% confident that when all the facts are on the table, Pinnacle will do the correct thing in WHATEVER decision they decide.

If not, I would be terribly disappointed.

Fishy I believe in you 200% and will listen to whatever you have to say but bottom line they should honor those who wagered on Under 8 & 1/2 on Oak State!

Oak State is a major college, why weren't their total line adjusted instead of taken off the board all together??

I agree with some of the earlier posters that an 80 cent line move would seem to nullify the "bad line clause". If they are moving the line, they have to be willing to accept the action. I can see if they get hammered, notice the line is off, and then immediately pull it. But to hang it all day long and continue to move it on action is implying that they are welcoming that action.

If anyone was silly enough to bet the other side, are their wagers being refunded as well?

I guess we are starting to see the myths about Pinny bookmaking skills diminish.

If the line mistake was because the wrong team was listed then I don’t see how the book can justify keeping the wager open. One easy way to tell would be if OKL ST was listed twice with different odds, then this clearly would indicate that indeed the mistake was the team listing.
One ? about the +100 moving to -180... Did the line progressively go higher all day or did it start at +100 then in one line move go to -180 and all wagers cancelled? If it moved numerous times then Pinny’s lines dept. was asleep at the helm because they definitely were staring at it all day long. If it happened all at once then that leaves some doubt in my mind that Pinny was being malicious in their intensions.
They posted a line for 5 hour on a future that is MONTHS away and you are yelling bloody murder as if the wager was cancelled after the season was over.
Your pissed not because you feel that they mishandled the situation, but because you found a bad line and tried your luck at it and Pinny caught it before the season started. At least the tone of this post indicates that to me.
A great/good book follows their written rules on the site. If their site states bad line wagers stand then they got no choice but to reactivate your wager. If not then as long as they follow their own WRITTEN rules then they are ok in my opinion.
Shit Jim a little trigger happy aren’t we this morning....
I guess the guys at Pinny are humans after all

Sorry Jimmy, the RX was down for a brief time.

I personally contacted Pinnacle with my displeasure in this ruling and also gave my opinion as to why I do not believe this is a BAD LINE.

This is the response email I recieved .....

Sir,

We have communicated with our clients directly on the reason why this wager was cancelled.

Mizike,
A little trigger happy, lol! I don't and won't ever play at Pinny so wanting that # is out of the question! I'm not a future player! They had a BAD line hanging all day and should honor their mistake! If I had a play that was cancelled hours after I made it even though it was months away I'd pull all money out and say screw you! You say they are #1, yes they are humans too but to be a top notch book they should Honor their fuckups!! Why is Oak State off the board all together than smarty?? Why wasn't their line adjusted accordingly??
