Despite them being the so called number one book around they still have the same clauses/rules that all the other places have.
Rules 2 & 3 cover this action. Even if it isn't an obvious bad line, they can fall backon rule 3 and that says they can refus, restrict, limit, or cancel ANY wager they want to.
So while people like to hold themto some higher standard, they are still in it to make money.
It also proves they aren't as "sharp" as all you people want them to be. It took them all day to figure this ot. I am sure their software is designed to see extreme money moves and to alert them.
Not to mention that the limit on this future is only 500 bux. So to be bured one way they would have needed to take a lot of bets on that thing.
And my final comment, how much would it take for them to move from +100 to -180, and if they moved it that much all day why didn't they notice it before they took it down? People like to throw around that they take BILLIONS in action in year, so if this side took say 40 max bets at 500 a whack that means a 20 thousand dollar overlay. Is that really worth all the negativity this action will raise? Of course I am guessing, but if they did take more than 40 max bets then it raises even more questions. As in, why did it take so long to notice it? Why not just move theline to a more respectable number when it got out of hand? It may open up a middles shot, but if caught soon enough that could have been averted as awell. Plus you have to think of how many guys will actually try and middle them in the first place.
While it looks like a small detail, it raises some questions, and it definately takes the argument that Pinnacle is run by "geniuses" off the table. If what you say is true there were "mistakes" made on MANY levels here, and it definately raises some questions as to what isgoign on over there these days.
Like I have said here in recent weeks, their line moves have been all over the place, and they are more volatile than they have ever been.Moving 5 cents one minute, then right back down to the original number 10 minutes later. I speculated on what this meant, but when added to some of the other stuff I have seen there it raises eyebrows.
Obviously we will get the gratuitous "pinnacle is the best in the world" posts, but these guys basically aren't looking at all the small details/mistakes that Pin makes eash and every day, especially when it comes to correlating odds. Which for all intents and purposes a future bet is.
