weird happenings at pinnacle last night, we all know that pinnacle has software that automatically adjusts the odds when a bet is placed, so I imagine it was a glitch in that software.....

I had $676 in my account so I decided to play $250 on the sharks, $250 on the capitols, and $176 on the stars. ($250) being the max bet for NHL futures.

anyway, right after placing the bets I go back to the odds to see what effect my wagers had on the odds, and strangly enough the odds on the Sharks and the Capitols went up. THe Sharks were +1580 or so, and the capitols were +1830 or so. Dallas was way down from the +2200 tho, down to about +1600.

I had set up the ticket with all 3 bets, and my gut feeling is that the software calculated it as a $676 bet on Dallas which is why it adjusted the capitols and the sharks upwards.

I thought about re-loading and putting more on the sharks, but it was late, and I didnt want to be too greedy so I went to bed exhausted from that crazy MNF game.

well this morning I wake up, and I notice some sharpies must have hit the sharks as it is down to about +1200, but the capitols are up to almost 20/1 now.

weird, wonderful and wacky things going on daily in the world of sportsbetting.

All joking aside you have great value in those original numbers and I have no doubt you'll turn them all into a nice profit come May/June.

How does a Sharks/Stars western final and the winner meets the Caps for the cup sound right about now? Very possible scenario IMO

very possible, and pinnacle's software is so intricate I dont doubt that this is a possibility in the sense of how much a line moves based on who placed that bet.

HOWEVER

I have never, ever placed a MAX bet on a wager on pinnacle, refreshed, and seen the line go up even higher, especially something which obviously had really low volume last night (NHL futures).

Of course I have never even made a max bet on NFL or other major sports at pinny, but have often made MAX bets on things like futures, or the olympics, or other obscure sports, and each and every time the wager moves the ine considerable making the price of my wager more expensive.

I liked everything the Capitals have done in recent years, except signing Theodore. The man cant go beyond the second round of the playoffs. He is something like 0-15 in playoff second round games. He played decent last year but he was up for a contract. A bad signing IMO.
