I am going to take a guess and say pinny was not behind it and will not react all that favorably. The reference to the whole mob thing and what the guy bet most likely on his computer. There are some very anal retentive people out there that may skwer that the wrong way and make all of us look bad.
If they were behind it they took a big chance that it could backlash against them and there precious american market. Thats for sure.

No way!!!!!

Look at it another way. Could Pinnacle sue them for using their name??? If yes, then the Sopranos took a huge unecessary risk putting their name in it.

There are other more well known books that they could have used, other then Pinnacle, if they wanted effect with the reference.

I agree. This kind of mainstream attention(not to mention the implied mob ties) is not necessarily a good thing for anyone.

Any publicity is good publicity. Look at George Michael... he has to have one of those "incidents" every 4 years or so in order to help boost old record sales.

Where else would they place the bet? Does BetJamica sound as good?...Pinny just works best.

The Greek would sound good.

If they had said Betcris, viewers might have been confused thinking Christopher opened shop online.

In any case, I don't see any backfire big deal. I doubt hardly anyone besides this forum even noticed. It's not like they whacked Simon Noble or anything.

I agree with you that it's bad to advertise main stream, but some of the offshore places just don't care.

Bodog, B.O.S, Nine.com, every poker site you could think of is shoving it down people's throat with the advertising. Stern has five different sites that adverise on his show alone.

Is it possible Pinnacle paid for this advertising?

I doubt it Jman. Hell, the only places I've ever seen Pinnacle advertise are offshore forums (and related sites), and they don't even advertise here anymore. Seems like they are very tight on the advertising budget and know they have the best word of mouth going.

Just my take.

Funny Pinny doesn't have Soprano's props or futures on their site.:modemman:

Exactly! The last thing I wanna see is some stupid ass MTV coverboy semi-celeb making reference to "fading" or "buying the hook".

Two for the Money was bad enough.
