Pinnacle lowered horse rebate from 7% to 4%. Anyone know if bets go into the pools?

I have talked to a lot of people about this, and I have heard from half the people that the wagers go into the pools while the other half said they book everything. If the bets do not go into the parimutual pools then 4% is reasonable. If they actually put them into the pools, I will go back to my local book.

7 was to good to be true forever. I figure the casino will make up for it.

Now Pinny has NOTHING on Carib in the horse department like everyone says when I praise Caribs horse department. 4% rebate and lightning fast grading of wins!!

pinny still has a lot on carib as far as horses go,at least pinny takes several harness tracks for sick guys like me

Don't believe that the money wagered at Pinnacle goes into the pari-mutual pool. To my knowledge the offshore books receive no percentage back from the pools, so cannot see any reason why funds wagered through the book would end up in the pari-mutual pool.

I visited Pinnacle back in March of this year and that was one of the questions I asked. I was told that players are profiled to the extent that some wagers are put into the pool and some aren't. Obviously sharp money hits the pools and square money doesn't. Thats the explanation I received although its a short version of a very long answer received.

Sounds more like a layoff then all money going into the pari-mutual pool. If Pinnacle is concerned about a sharp play, better to lay it off they book it. A lot of reasons why so many books use the 20/8/4 limit plus daily double, exacta and trifecta limits on payouts instead of full track odds. Limits their exposure.

Ted.. SBR might know more since they visit Pinnacle quite a bit, but I believe that the money goes through a hub or book in Australia that they have contracts with and again I would venture a guess that its either sharp bettors with bigger wagers that go that route.

Again maybe SBR would have a clearer concise answer to this.

HTRC,
I will be there on Friday and try to get an answer.

I always thought they did not use the pools. But what you said sounds vaguely familiar from what I've heard.

Thanks Buzz... I can never remember the guys name that gave me the tour again but I believe it was Bertrand (sp?) and Javier who was nice enough to pick us up at the Hotel.

Once you are profiled as a consistent winner Pinny will put your bets in the pool and they go through a hub in Austraila and get a rebate from them if they are going to a 4 % rebate I would guess there gonna start dumping all the money in the pools and lock up a small percantege for themselves

WALKI - Just guessing, but it is possible if you have a high enough volume they may have cut you back to a 4% rebate. Best to contact Pinnacle CSD an inquire. csd@pinnaclesports.com

Sound advice, Wilheim.

No need to speculate when they are so professional and prompt to answer e-mails.

Here goes again: csd@pinnaclesports.com

Right on Pinny's front page they are still advertising 7% rebate. How do these stupid rumors get started anyway?
