Philadelphia TT over 2.5 +100
Philadelphia 1st period +125
Normally it’s not a good idea to back a team playing a back to back much less traveling to another country to do so. However in this case the game last night only proved to be a warmup after not playing for nearly a week.
Philadelphia has won six of their last nine games and have out scored their opponents 31-22. Included in Philly’s list of wins are the Kings, Penguins, and Red Wings. After a 5 day layoff the Flyers came out flat last night and became the first team to lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets in over three weeks. In hindsight it was a predicable result. Not just because of the lay off but the look ahead to playing at the Bell Centre on hockey night. If there was a positive it would be the PP, (2 for 3). The Flyers have converted 5 of their last 9 attempts while having the man advantage. You certainly can expect a better effort tonight at the Bell Centre, especially from someone like Claude Giroux who always gets fired up to play in Montreal.
The Flyers offense has exceeded 2.5 goals 12 times in their 15 games played.
Their 3.2 GPG average is 3rd in the NHL and topped only by Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.
Carey Price does not exactly have a stellar record against the Flyers. 9 wins, 9 loses, 2.68 GAA. And when you dig deeper you find the Flyers have scored more than 2.5 goals, 14 times in the 20 games he has been a part of.
For all these reasons you should be required to lay the price on the Philly TT. Getting them at even money is a overlay.
How can it be Montreal is 12-4-1 and owns a goal differential of +2? A big part of it can be attributed to their opening period production. Or lack of. In the 17 games they’ve played Montreal has scored a whopping 4 times. Even Buffalo has scored more than Montreal in the first period, (5). Habs have been out scored 15-4 in the first.
