i didn't hear it i know it!!!!!!!! how old are you 25?

I'm double that. And I still say Ness has never been a winning handicapper. He's a boiler room creation of the late 70s, just like most of them in Vegas. I heard his radio show 10 years ago and he doesn't know much, and I doubt he's ever beaten 11/10 over any significant period.

There's always someone HOT in college and the NFL. You just have to find out who it is EARLY! You can make money with a service, and there's nothing wrong with paying for it. If you wind up paying a service $100 for their picks, and they make you $1200, isn't it worth it? I think it is. I think Doc and his spin off guys at ASA are worth the money. They seem to turn a profit every year.

well im just saying that i know better cause about 13-14 years ago i sat down with him at a casino lounge in vegas and he told me a lot about the handicapping game.most was the horror stories we all have heard but he was pretty good in the past.

just a heads up,plays you have seen posted in the service play sections in forums the last 8-10 years have not even been their big plays.you only get the low tier plays that get posted so don't let anyone tell you different.i used to get football plays for myself and my friend who is passed away now and we recieved totally didderent plays and the rating were much higher.

its no biggie but i hope this sheds some light on what people really think they are getting unless you know someone personally such as the handicapper

thanks

Keyman, I understand. I'm in the business since 1985. I just don't tout here. I'm not a big name but I know many of them personally. I am primarily a bettor who used to have a 900# and now a lowkey website with a few loyal regulars.

What I can say for sure is over 90% of touts don't bet their own money on the plays they release. I doubt any of the boiler room guys in LV with 800#s, Ness included are actually bettors. Most do not even make their own picks; a staff assistant usually does the picks and write-ups.

The Service Play section has very few good cappers. It is best used as fade material.

I have known about Northcoast Sports and Phil Steele, it's founder and owner, since the year it opened 23 years ago. I have watched it grow from a one man operation to it's current staff of 30.

There are many statements in this thread which are not fully accurate, but I won't comment on those because I don't want to offend anyone. I will, however, give you a guideline to follow with Northcoast that will make you money. It is very restrictive and you must remain disciplined and follow these plays only.

All 5* Plays (Heavier On His College GOY, NFL GOY, College Bowl GOY and NFL Playoff GOY).

All 4* or higher College Totals Plays

The combination of these two types of plays will only provide about 10-12 plays for the year but the win percentage over the last 22 years is between 65% t0 70%.

In recent years, Northcoast's late phone totals plays have been far superior to their late phone side plays.

Pass on all side plays 4* and under and totals plays 3* and under. Pass the "Monday Night Magic" plays, the Marquee Plays, and the Private Play Hotline Plays.

If you follow what I am saying, year after year, you will turn a very nice profit. Lastly, stay away from his personal website as that has only been in operation for a couple of years. Strictly deal with Northcoast Sports plays.

Nice chatting with you as well keyman.

A friend of mine loves Blue Ribbon.

I prefer to keep my own set of notebooks. If anyone remembers 'The Daily Spread' Heath once wrote in the late 90s all flammable materials should be kept far away from my 20 year paper pile lest I incinerate an entire block.

If your last name is Landau, I was a client of yours for a while probably 15 years ago or so. You had the best phone line going. Your rants were hilarious. Going off about how Bobby Knight screwed the cover, etc. If that's not you, never mind.

Thanks OMT you always bring clarity to these types of discussions.

That's me Arnie. I registered here as Scott Landau first in the late 90s but due to a software glitch a few years ago the name is still registered but no password is accepted. So I switched to Scott L. I miss having my comp line as well.
