This game reminds me of when colts went into super XLI (miami 2006) vs Chicago with no defense and it was rainy, windy, foggy and prolly cold (maybe not that cold). The went against a great Chicago Bear defense. You guys know what the outcome was. hmmmmm

two of Manning's first four passes against the Chicago Bears were very nearly intercepted -- and a third actually was, by Chris Harris.
But Manning collected himself and, four hours later, he collected the Vince Lombardi Trophy. After nine seasons, Manning finally has the one thing that matters to him most: an NFL championship.

The Colts prevailed over the Bears 29-17 on Sunday, but Manning would be wise to send a thank-you note to Chicago quarterback Rex Grossman. Much-maligned Grossman will be savaged even more after throwing a fourth-quarter interception to defensive back Kelvin Hayden that was returned 56 yards for the game-changing touchdown.Manning, who completed 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown and threw one interception, was named the game's MVP. Afterward, he deflected at least a half-dozen attempts to elicit a comment about the perception -- after a series of playoff losses -- that he is now a winner.

Chicago had 5 turnovers in that game and only rushed 19 times. Are you predicting seattle has
5 turnovers and that russell wilsons performance will be equal to rex grossman?

I'm not saying he will, but there's a chance of it happening ....its only his second year at the helm on the biggest stage in football.

Don't worry about Wilson. He's a young man who plays like a veteran, and he has seen plenty of big games. I've watched Seattle in almost all of them. He never gets rattled. His worst trait might be that he tries to do too much. His decision making on the run, or when the play is broken, is exemplary for a young QB.

It's been written over many time, but I will repeat. Manning is more affected by the wind than the temperature. He doesn't have enough arm strength anymore to pass into the wind. Cold will have minimal affect

A little rain (slippery field) is good for the offense. It wasn't windy, foggy, and certainly not cold. The Colts beat the Bears because they turned them over 5 times. Their defense was also underrated because they had some key guys out for much of the season and the stats didn't bear out just how good they were. The Colts defense gave up 34 points in 3 playoff games prior to the Super Bowl.

That said, everyone talks about Seattle having a better defense. But if you look at the run defense, Denver has put up comparable numbers against better rush offenses. If Denver is going to win this game, it's going to be because they are capable of forcing Seattle to pass. Whether or not that can happen is to be determined, but San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver all have allowed 3.9 yards per carry for opposing rush offenses during the regular season...Denver has faced the best statistical rush offenses (ypc) of the three.

The first forecast for Super Bowl Sunday has been released, and it's currently calling for a high of 35 degrees and a 30 percent chance of snow.

According to Weather.com, snow showers are possible and temperatures will range from 25 to 35 degrees. The Broncos and Seahawks will kick off at 6:30 PM ET, so they'd likely be playing in temperatures in the 20s. Wind isn't expected to be a factor; it's projected to be blowing around 8 MPH. Of course, we're ten days away from the big game, which leaves plenty of time for change. The NFL has previously said that if a winter storm is expected, the game could be moved to Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday. Worst-case scenario would be for Super Bowl to be pushed back to February 9. We're not at that point.

the Denver run defense shows good numbers because of the fact that most teams abandoned the run all together, when they were playing from way behind... I think they will be in big trouble trying to stop Lynch...

That's why its important to look at the YPR numbers relative to what their opponents average on offense. The Denver defense has given up 3.9 YPR against offenses who average 4.3 YPR. I wouldn't call their run D great, I'd say it is above average. If they still had DT Kevin Vickerson in the lineup then I'd say it would be very good against the run, although I think we have seen the FA DT Knighton really step up lately and the rookie Sylvester Williams who replaced Vickerson has made strides as the season has progressed as well. Looking at Seattle, their run D gives up 4.0 YPR against teams that average 4.1 so going by those numbers, Denver run D is a little better than Seattle's. Of course, it is the pass defense where Seattle excels, giving up only 5.4 YPA against teams that average 6.6 and only 58.7% completions against teams that average 61.2%

Broncos played Tennessee on Dec. 8th, in Denver, and the temperature at the start of the game was 18 degrees and 10 degrees at games end. While of course not a playoff game Manning threw for 397 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He can 'play' in cold weather.
