Goth kids that work here are very genuine and cool cats. I can respect a woman with green hair...
but what is the point, the objective? People who don't fit with normal society can easily tweak wardrobe, personal tastes and such to be comfy with some type of niche crowd. People at the core are no different but how people want to be perceived is what gives the illusion of difference. A "statement" gets made in an attempt to be unique but all it does is send you right into another crowd of misfits.
I think everyone knows truly different people. Those who burn the candle at both ends and it has jack shit to deal with race, clothing, musical taste, sexual preference or the like which of course is what everyone uses ammunition for being different..
