Liking PSU in this spot.
As a midwesterner I see Iowa a lot on the early kickoff ESPN games. Outside of the really good team with Dallas Clark, Bob Sanders, Gallery, Steinbach, etc early in Kirk Ferentz's tenure there, Iowa teams have looked the same for the last 15 years. Slow, unathletic, predicatable. They never have any dynamic playmakers so 74 yard TD's and blowouts over inferior opponents are rare.
This year they were played even steven by Iowa State and for 3 quarters by North Texas.
Oregon's 1st half domination of Wyoming is making Iowa's lone decisive win look none too impressive.
Penn State comes to town with a very dynamic, explosive, talented offense and Iowa will not keep pace.
I know people will point to Michigan last year, totally different situation. Michigan has no offense and a piss poor QB. Cincinnati and Air Force played them competitively.
Also that game was played in November when college teams are pretty beat up. I wouldn't like PSU here if this game was November 4th, for example.
PSU comes into this game pretty fresh after 3 blowout wins and plenty of rest for starters and reps for backups.
I look for McSorley and Barkley to bring their "A" games to this prime time TV encounter, both will be looking to impress a nationwide audience a week after Darnold, Jones and USC looked like dog doo doo.
Look for something around 45 to 16 here.
