PSU has been one of the most consistent teams in the country & has won a multitude of ways. That speaks volumes IMO. Granted the schedule has not been that tough.
Odd year though. THe bottom 15 in the top 25 is not very strong at all. A lot of mediocrity.

I think PSU is a very solid team. A lot less fraudulent than this Alabama team that somehow has not been exposed yet.
IMO Best team in the land is UF and I hate them. UF would beat Bama by double digits if they meet up in the SEC Championship game
Also how pathetic was it that Musburger and Herbstreit had to tell us all how involved Paterno still is with coaching this team. if you have to tell us that, that means their trying to convince themselves of the same thing. When else have you ever heard such a thing ?

Penn State plays defense and don't ever underestimate a team that can play defense. The better defense wins bowl games. PLUS, you don't ever give papa Joe a month to prepare for a game. My biggest bet every year is Penn State in bowl games. I will take Penn State and the points against any of those teams.
I would agree that they aren't the best team, but how can you say they aren't an elite team? They've passed every test so far, and tonight was a huge win. They haven't made any excuses, they have just beaten everyone.
Penn St would beat all those "elite" teams you mentioned plenty of times. I don't know that they would be favored, but it won't be a huge upset if they play any of those teams once and beat them.

I 100% agree with RED EYE here, Penn State is not an elite team(meaning a top ten team in the nation).
I can pick at least ten teams in the country I would wager straight-up on a neutral field against PENN STATE. In fact, the SEC alone would produce at LEAST three of these teams(FLORIDA, GEORGIA, ALABAMA).

We usually see eye to eye but you are way off with this one. Alabama would beat Penn State by double digits. The best team in the country is USC & their offense has not played up to its capabilities. Their defense is in fine form as to be expected from a P.C. squad entering the home stretch. After watching the game last night & hating Ohio State like I do, I still think they are better. Take away Pryor's mistake & Penn State doesn't win. That mistake might be the cause of yet another undeserved Big 10 participant in the BCS Title Game.
Penn state is an elite team that will win their BCS game. How many times do above average teams who are not in the SEC have to be told they arent worthy of being elite? That thinking doomed michigan against heisman winner Tim Tebow before that game last season.. and Michigan dominated Florida from the start. Same with Wisconsin. Well this PSU team is a lot better than that, and will keep winning. I have seen a lot of posts on this forum about how they were a "trap game" against Wisconsin, and how they would get beat by double digits against OSU. People need to look at results, not their thinking about conference powers and past powerhouses.
