If not, Detroit will destroy him again like they did last year.....

Gill is just too sloppy, slow, and unathletic.

If you look at many of the goals opponents have scored vs the Pens in the playoffs, Gill was directly involved or on the ice for a lot of them.
Boucher playing his ass off now too so he should be the 6th D-man, then they can stop dressing 7 d.

If Gill does play, there is no doubt in my mind he will single handedly cost the Penguins one game in this series.......lets hope Im wrong.

I agree. He couldn't crack the Leafs lineup, and their defence was atrocious.

Gill's a very good penalty killer who has been in the lineup all year long. He's not going anywhere.

We used to knock Lilja for some of the same reasons. Mainly tripping over his skate laces or the blue line, until we realized his real talent was blocking shots and playing an excellent PK role. He took up a lot of ice and got in the way of many shots. Emphasis on "got in the way". I'd hate to lose him today.

Gill is a vet and while slow he is very valuable to this team defensively. He has done very well on the penalty kill and he is the big body that clears the net.

Has he had some pucks bounce of his big body and into the net? yes

Hal Gill has done a great job this year for the team and has done all that was asked of him since he came here. I think the depth problem we have is a good problem and if anyone should go down we have someone to step in.

You can say all you want about the wings skating around gill but the fact is gill has faced speedy teams all season and had done a pretty dam good job.

This should be one hell of a series, I can not wait. I just passed up tickets to the joe on sunday because all my paperwork is due the following tuesday:ohno:

i wouldn't mind golo being in there

A rookie in the Stanley Cup playoffs with little experience against a well tuned wings team?

No thanks

Gogs will get his chance to shine but the fact is we have solid blue line vets that fill the role rather well. Phillip puts the puck on the net almost every time when he lines up and isn't as much of a liability defensively

That's the problem. He does not clear the net. I've screamed at the TV all year about that. He's a hugh puss.

Gees I hate being right.

Detroit 1
Pittsburgh 1
Hal Gill 2

THe one glaring weak link on the ice got exposed yet again.

WHat a clown on skates he is. Yes he does well on the PK, but then if you are dressing 7 D, dont shift him then. Let him just PK. He doesnt clear the net, cant handle the puck, is slow, sloppy , and just doesnt belong on the ice vs Detroit.

Gill is big, with a reach. That is it. He rarely clears the net and yes he is is a big puss. Nail on the head!

jdigae01...blah blah blah,,,,,,,,Still rusty the Pens knocked out your no talent Philly goon squad I see.

Quite the call. Gill was really exposed out there tonight, being clearly beaten on the Helm breakaway, and I think I remember a situation where Hossa pushed the puck past him and almost had a chance. If tonight was any indication, Hal Gill could be in for some trouble the rest of the way.

when was the last time the flyers won a stanley cup? oh yeah didn't they get swept with home ice advantage in 97 by these same redwings? wings are a class orginization, most philly fans in any sport.. not so much.

I knew you'd mention going down somewhere in your post gaeboy. Can't keep your mind off the long hard ones even while you talk about hockey. Then again, that's why you watch the sport. Watching all those men skating around just wishing they were figure skaters. You dating any of those flyers now that they've had all that time ontheir hands. Later geaboy.
