Referees for Stanley Cup Finals:
Paul Devorski, Marc Joannette, Dennis Larue and Bill McCreary.
I'm not sure how many more breaks the Pissburgh Penguins can get this postseason but they certainly caught a 'whopper' when Bill 'Penguin' McCreary's name was announced as one of the 4 referees to call this year's finals. McCreary is definitely no stranger to the Pens and their supporters as the team is a perfect 4-0 this spring in the only four Pissburgh games he has officiated.
The ironic part of McCreary's perfect Penguin postseason record is that two of the team's four victories with him calling have come in overtime, both while the Penguin opposition has been shorthanded. McCreary was scratched from calling the '08 Stanley Cup Finals.
With this guy calling a minimum of three games in this year's finals, Pissburgh is a genuine L-O-C-K to win those three contests.
The only thing that remains to be seen is whether or not the one-sided referee will don a Penguins jersey before this spring's postseaon comes to an end.
In closing, it's absolutely and totally unbelievable and downright disgusting how biased the once proud NHL has become toward certain teams and players over the past decade, with this postseason being as bad as it's ever been. This is the same league that once took pride in knowing it was head and shoulders above the other three major sporting leagues when it came to displaying honesty and most importantly unbiased officiating.
The NHL has truly come a long way---or has it?
