Pelfrey struggling with dead arm
Mike Pelfrey, SP NYM
News: According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Mets starter Mike Pelfrey is dealing with a "dead arm" period. “Every year, you just go through a little period where you don’t feel like the ball is coming out of your hand like it has that extra life on it,” Pelfrey said. “That it jumps out of your hand. I feel like I’ve been going through that.”
Analysis: Both Pelfrey (10-3, 3.39 ERA) and Mets pitching coach, Dan Warthen, admitted this week the pitcher is suffering through a patch of dead arm. There is no pain. But there is no real solution either. Pelfrey can only continue to pitch through it. He starts again Saturday afternoon against the Braves at Citi Field, but Fantasy owner in daily formats should consider better options while he goes through this supposedly "normal" phase.
