Zimmer was provoked by Pedro who is a cocky greaseball that is lucky to be in this country. Pedro should be deported back to Santo Domingo.

Zimmer was charging Pedro. It also looked like he was going to hit him. Pedro defended himself in the most passive way possible.

Agreed - Ortiz was standing right there and would have had no reason not to jump on zimmer and beat the pulp outta him.

He jumped out at pedro and pedro dropped the guy and really politely stepped back. Most people would have been in the guys face and up his ass - and the guy was lucky that the sox had the kindness in them to chill the whole thing out.

agree that pedro defended himself, but "Passive way"? not really. The way he took Zimmer by the side of his head, and threw him down. Maybe a shove, or just getting out of the way... guess that would be too Guillermo Mota.

Either way, who was Pedro trying to provoke? Zimmer? No, the Yanks bench, and specifically Posado it seemed. Where does Zimmer fall into that equation?

idiotic stuff....

Zimmer want Steinbrenner to say "Hey Mr. Zimmer, you one tough and crazy son of bitch. I am so very glad you are on bench to protect players." Either this or they should make him take test for anabolic steroids because I think he have roid rage. Only until he was pushed aside and then he was like " whoa maybe I am not as tough guy as my head thinks I am." Thank you.

The one thing you guys out to know,Clemens had pulled this shit a million times..He was just pissed off because he couldn't throw back without being thrown out..Usually he is the one who starts shit.

Zimmer has a couple of bad knees..he went on his ass becuase of his own momentum of his own old fat ass.

I know you Pedro backers can't be serious.
"Zimmer was charging him"? Ooooooohhhh!! Help me! There's a 72 year old, insane, fat man after me. Give me a break. If Pedro had any real self confidence he would have pointed at him, back peddled, and laughed hysterically at him. Making Zimmer look like an idiot. Instead of embarassing Zimmer he showed what a true piece of sh*t he is and embarassed himself.

Deep Blue. Maybe thats how you treat 72 year olds where you live but real men don't do that sh*t.

Oh, and by the way Blue. Please don't try to insult me until you can learn to type english. This ass clown is so stupid he calls me uneducated when he can't even type a sentence. Standard inferiority complex from an America hater. He doesn't even have the balls to list where he is from cause he'll get ripped apart.

Pedro is semi-retarded and Zimmer is a old hardnosed x-vet/ballplayer. What happened was expected under the circumstances. Pedro should have put his hands up and backed away and Zimmer did what he had to do. My hat is off to the old S.O.B You could tell he forgot he was 72 for a moment and did exactly what his INSTINCTS told him to do. Don Zimmer is my hero. Pedro is a great pitcher but obviously a complete dickhead.

I think Pedro had every right to do what he did to Zimmer. I think most of you would fight back if some old geezer tried to take a swing at you. Anyway, it's not as if Pedro punched the guy or really beat him up. More importantly, here's my line for a real fight between them:
Pedro -200
Zimmer +180

Just kidding!

I loved it. A little hockey in baseball!
First of all Pedro had all the right in the world to throw Zimmer to the side. Where was that big tough guy Posada? Seemed like he backed down against Pedro and let a 70 year old man take his place - pathetic Posada.

Say what you will but Popeye was a hell of an intense competitor between the lines, on the golf course and at the track and apparently still is. This is first hand knowledge guys. But he was one of the good guys when I knew him. McIrish knows what I'm talking about.
