Toronto Blue Jays
Rickey Romero: 7-3 overall, the team is 8-4 when he starts. 2.96 overall ERA with a 1.27 WHIP. He has been hot as of late - Last three games he is 3-0 with 1.27 ERA and .98 WHIP. Romero is currently on a four game winning streak.
Baltimore Orioles
Rich Hill: Hill is 3-2 overall with a team record of 7-3 when he starts. However, his overall ERA is 7.43 with a WHIP of 1.80. He is 0-1 in his last three starts with a team record of 1-2. His ERA in the last three starts is 13.15 and a WHIP of 2.38.
Hill is getting the start today, replacing Bergesen who was supposed to start but will have to sit out due to injury. Initially, Baltimore didn't want Hill to start another game until the all-star break so they could evaluate him considering his poor performance as of late.
Note: For what it's worth, Baltimore manager Dave Trembley is out serving a two game suspension.
Both teams are evenly matched up on offensive, in my opinion. ESPN has Toronto as 17 in their power rankings, and Baltimore ranked at 23.
It is clear that Romero is on top of him game right now while Hill is struggling. I'm taking the better pitching here.
