FWIW Rio declined my neteller withdrawel. I put 4,506 dollars in play since I won the Baseball Contest.

The customer service kid said that I have not put enough "at risk" to qualify for the 4X 750.00 turnover.

More C/R books BULLSHIT.

i think instead of posting in the forums that we are not going to pay and call these guys terrorists it would have been better to just tell them that you are not in good financial situation and you cant pay. calling these guys terrorist is going to put a big smile on their face!

This could probably use it own thread but since Kiss1 mentioned he requested a payment...
I did too!!!

The customer service rep told me that it would be in my account promtly at 7pm est.
It is now 8:08!!!!

Just how do we really know that Rio/Skybook is being held up?

Maybe they just couldn't pay their ISP bill?

Fyi, here is the new homepage for Skybook:
http://www.freehalfpoint.com/

LV711 off to call Skybook!!!

A lot of the email virus problems are due to Bill Gates. In order to compete with the simple email programs out there, he set up Outlook to run Visual Basic programs. The pitch was that it would improve your office productivity by allowing you to automate your email (and even access your database). In other words: exactly what a hacker wants. Any email program that lets you run attachments or other programs is dangerous.

Eh?-
Maybe CRIS paid? Nobody uses tico tech support (racsa). Everyone is on satellite with tie-in to american companies.

Buzz-
Your support is fading? What would YOU do if you were in the books' situation (and what would you want your players to do)?

Unfortunately, this is an industry with a lot of greedy/selfish people on both sides of the counter. Few understand that everybody has to stand up to fight this kind of problem.

Good Luck lv711

Keep us posted. It's funny because I remember when I added up all my wagers at the Rio Web Site the only column I added was called "risk" so how could they only come up with half of the amount I put in play ?

101% correct Java. Outlook and Outlook Express make you so vulnerable to so much, it's unreal.

If people knew, they'd never use the shit without a realtime virus scanner & firewall.

What are you thoughts on the possibility of some mass mailer loading hostile code into junk mail sent to players? Keep it small scale, and it's a long time until it hits the antivirus vendors.

It's pretty much that easy using VB or Jscript, isn't it?

Kiss and group,

Well they paid up!!!
But...but...
These pricks at Skybook charged me the $15 Neteller fee!!!
It's not my fault that they are down and essentially forcing me to withdraw my cash.
And they didn't want to try and save me as a customer by paying the Neteller fee!!!

That's not what I would call good customer relations!!!!

Plus with the website down, how do I know if I wasn't suppose to have received a 'free' neteller withdrawal???

In any case, Skybook/Rio have NO shot at getting me back again!!

Buzzsaw, we are talking about 200 megabits of bandwidth. Do you know how many offshore countries have that much bandwidth? Whole telco's used to run with less than 25% of that.

One of the books that paid, installed some hardware to help protect them in the future. The "hackers" sent them another email and said they didn't like the new hardware. The book got shut down a second time and had to pony up another $20K.

So Buzz, if they ask you to pay, will you?

Not only will these guys continue to do this, how many other geeks world wide just found a nice lively hood?

I'll tell you one thing, the checks will be cashed and it won't have anything to do with WU.

You are a complete tool. Crying about $15 withdrawal fee when the book is standing up and risking a lot more to protect the players long-term. They are better off without you.

JavaScript is much less dangerous. VB was designed to work with Windows and make DLL calls and other dangerous operations.

Gringo, 200mb is beyond HUGE bandwidth. That's why I'm thinking that this is a trojan that creates MANY unsuspecting "zombie" computers.

"The book got shut down a second time and had to pony up another $20K."

After reading that, I'll change my opinion from "these guys need to get hurt" to "these guys deserve to be killed".

TT, I agree.

If you can lend me an AK47 and a few grenades I'll come along with ya and join the fun. We should of course torture them first and send a copy of the film to the affected sportsbooks.

Darryl, it wouldn't surprise me if 1/2 of the "freelancers" in New York already have a bunch of techies working on it.

NO books like this, and it can't take much to get a 100K+ finders fee....250+ wouldn't surprise me at this point-especially with a couple of the rumored "payers" included.

Whoever they are, no matter where they are, they should be sweating. No matter how good you are, you can be traced. They are using Kevin Mitnick's name. I'm sure they are using his name because he is considered one of the best if not the best.

Even Kevin didn't look so hot in leg irons when they hauled his ass off to prison.

These guys can only wish to be that lucky.
