Paul Konerko: On a path for the Hall of Fame? :think2: Written by MC3 Sports Media Monday, 27 September 2010 09:34
Plenty-o-talk today about whether Paul Konerko will stay in the South Side of Chicago after the conclusion of the 2010 season. Most of the talk is centered around Ozzie Guillen and the fact that Paulie would be more likely to stay if Guillen stays and more likely to leave if Guillen is not retained. At 34 years old, Konerko has had arguably his finest season. This brings me back to January when I opined that Paulie, if he continued at a productive pace, needed to be considered for the Hall of Fame.
As you may recall, the argument for Paulie as a future HOF member is not so much based on the quality of his body of work (it's very good but it's not babe Ruth-like) but more because his career is better than that of Andre Dawson's who was just inducted.
