BB is on a revenge mission against the world. That press conference was epic, and totally reasonable fuck you to the Mark Brunells of the world (he literally almost cried on TV after Brady spoke).

Your from Boston, good luck with your play, but I've never seen someone from.Boston bet against their team, I just don't get it. I'm from Pa & I bet against the Steelers & Eagles plenty of times.

Also, no freaking way the Pats will win by more than 7, that's if they win. Brady & Belichick have either won by 3 or lost by 3 in all 5 super bowls.

The Pats can flip the bird because they know that Goodell is a friend of their owner Kraft and he won't do a thing. How does one explain the Broncos having to go to play at New England 3 years in a row as soon as Peyton Manning came to Denver when these two teams are not in the same Division? Also I believe Goodell is buddies with the Ravens owner which explains the initial lenient decision in the Ray Rice situation plus the fixing of the officiating against the Broncos in the 2012 Rahim Moore game.

LOL. You people are funny. The Pats can only run it up if they are clearly the better team --- which they aren't.

Taking NE-14.5 is flat-out giving your money away.

This post is a perfect example as to why this has become a terrible game to bet on. "BB is on a revenge mission"...really? So, if this wasn't going on he would care less about the game? What kind of logic is that? Games shouldn't be bet on based on emotions and that is what your thread says to me. You very well may be right as far as the final outcome, but the fact remains that all this bullshit about deflated balls is taking away from preparation (there's no denying that and even Belichick admitted that). It's like the Patriots fans think they're going to suit up themselves and play this game (sorry you're not and if you were, I would bet on the Seahawks because I don't think you'd have a chance). I said in my previous post that this game seems like it will go one of two ways: 1) You're right and the Seahawks win decisively to silence their critics, or 2) They are not properly prepared and they lose big. And spare me the "this isn't a distraction nonsense and the Patriots don't let things like this get to them" (they haven't won a Superbowl in 10 years). If this game didn't have a two week window and was played this Sunday, I would be all over the Seahawks because I would truly have to question how any team could properly prepare with this circus going on (the normal Superbowl festivities are bad enough but this has taken things to an insane level). And then to see Belichick just come unglued when Spygate was mentioned (well you get the idea). I think the calling of a press conference was ridiculous if you truly wanted this thing to simmer down (there's no way it was going to die regardless). The only thing I can figure is he was trying to take the pressure off his team and put it on himself or use the type of psychological ploys that Jimmy Johnson was a master of when he was coaching (i.e. I guarantee the win). Regardless, the Seahawks have been so under the radar that they have been able to totally focus on the task at hand (the Patriots have not). Why people get so caught up on one game and bet outrageous amounts of money on it without regards to their overall bankroll never ceases to amaze me, but these games take on a life of their own. There have been much better opportunities throughout the NFL playoffs for gambling purposes and the Superbowl might not even be the best betting proposition on the board come Sunday. But carry on with the emotional stuff and if you win, congrats in advance. But astute gamblers don't bet with emotions.

I am not betting with emotions. BB, when in the face of spygate, made a point of running up the score. Now, if they don't get a lead they cant run up the score. Nowhere did I say GOY or a LOCK. I think it is good value because if you like the Pats, I would expect them to keep the pedal down, even if they have a big league, which helps eliminate backdoors and such.

Man it is a bet not -- not a declaration of loyalty. Don't bet it,if you don't want . But don't pretend you have the info to assess my motives!

What arrogance! I think I found value. I don't need your lessens on what an "astute gambler" does. I do just fine. I see an edge here, and that is what betting is. What is beyond the pale is a sanctimonious lecture that pretend to know my motives for ANYTHING -- based on, what a 30 -word post where I post a single play. and again, nowhere did I say LOCK of GOY -- I am betting a unit on this, you arrogant jerk.

Nice straw man argument. Any your retort is illogical also. So Belichick is out for revenge. Again that's ridiculous and if they need that for motivation, I think they're in trouble (I suspect winning a Superbowl should be all the motivation any team should need). And typically when you get revenge on an opponent, it's because they did something to you (the Seahawks have nothing to do with this). Then we have this, when Spygate happened....blah, blah, blah. Completely illogical. So when does the statute of limitations run out on Spygate? They haven't blown out every team since Spygate. And so what if they blow someone out after Spygate, did the incident go away? Did the NFL undo their punishment...NO!. Yeah, you're a homer and you're betting with emotion. Nothing more, nothing less. I never said you said GOY. I said it's not what an astute gambler would do. There's no value in this play unless you put value in emotions. I don't think this game is going to be close either, but I wouldn't make this bet for the reasons you stated.

Overall, I think the entire game is a poor "value" play and have stated as much. I think there were much better opportunities throughout the playoffs and this game might not be the best play of all sports next Sunday. We can agree to disagree.

I think betting based on one's PERSONAL emotions is foolhardy. But I do believe assessing the motives of NFL teams does warrant consideration. I honestly believe BB feelings/emotions/whatever ... could impact playcalling. For instance, if the Patriots are up by 17 with 4 minutes left, I think he would try to score a TD, and not run it out (and in doing so eliminate odds for backdoor). I am not being "illogical," as you claim, I have a clear logic. You may disagree with the logic, and that is fine. I don't go on your posts and tell you how lacking in astuteness you are.

But I resent implication I am not using logic. I am a careful better. This play is worth a unit. I never compared it to other wagering oppurtunities in playoffs.

I gave my reasons and you offered no specific retorts to those. You are always welcome to go to any posts I make and offer reasons why you believe I am not being astute. I would welcome them and take them into consideration if I felt they were valid. We can agree to disagree.
