You better hope the Eagles are not up double digits in the fourth quarter in the Super Bowl....there will be no coming back....ask the Vikings.....

you're comparing an always choking organization led by their third string QB to the won everything organization led by the GOAT? c'mon man

you have to bring shit better than that too the table

I'll let all the Patriots long list of 4th quarter victims address that nonsense

Harry, how many times do the Patriots have to overcome double digit deficits in the 4th quarter? Even in the playoffs ?

The game is 60 minutes long, the Patriots win the last 15 or 17 or 30 or 32 minutes. They tend to finish stronger, and that's been especially true down the stretch this season.

The Jaqs leading in the 4th is no surprise, they played good and once again Bortles played like a great QB instead of one if the worst QB's in the league.

The Jaqs winning the 4th qtr would have a surprise

Oh I know. I took the Pats ML live in the 3rd quarter. I had little doubt they would win, even with Gronk out and down 10. I've learned from past mistakes. I have decided I like money more than I hate the Pats.

I'm just saying the Jags were game. I think you'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous for a good chunk of the 2nd half.

If you say you never overlook an opponent I don't get why you started this thread.

When a lot of people say a big underdog is going to win and they're betting them, what they really mean is "I like their chances to win better than the 21.6% that the oddsmakers give them"

That just doesn't sound nearly as cool when you're about to fire a big dog ML. So I think that is where the confusion comes from. Nobody actually would take the Jags with a gun to their head. They just like their chances relative to the market price.

It's just expressed more emphatically.

Agreed. And I don't think that was a terrible take, which is what Willie proclaimed by starting this thread.

I was very nervous. It didn't look good.

I started this thread because there was a movement around here telling us all the reasons the Jaqs were going to win Sunday

Tom Caughlin owns the Patriots
They were going to run the ball down their throats
Their defense was going to sack and rattle Brady

Probably the most SU predictions for a > TD dog in the history of this forum

I pointed out their QB sucks, although he had a great game and kept them in it
Their Defense has been torched, and they were torched again down the stretch even sans Gronk

and Brady and the Patriots are pretty good too, they have a shot to win

thought the Jaqs had to have a lot going for them to win, they couldn't have asked for more and still lost

Brady may have been impaired
Gronk was taken out in the first half, just when they started going to him
they win the turnover battle
Bortles played the game of his life
Bortles didn't make any mistakes

and they still lost

don't forget they even nailed the 54 yard field goal

PS: seriously, I don't get nervous, I always believe they can and will win

as long as there's enough time on the clock, they're finding a way to win

every now and then they lose, can't win them all, I enjoy the ride

C'mon Willie, I have respect for ya, but this thread wasn't an "aw shucks, my team might have a chance to win" type of proclamation. You bashed anyone for being dumb enough to think the Jags had a chance to win this game, and now you're coming back as if you were simply asserting your team's chances with a dash of humility.

This is part of why people don't like Patriots fans.

Not that you care. They're all just "haters", right?

PS reminder that I was on the Pats ML, I'm not sour grapes at all.

I was.

But we (the other Patriot fans at my party) never felt beat or out of it. Especially starting at the end of the second quarter when Jax had the ball, three time outs, and 55 seconds and they decided to sit on their 14-10 lead and run the clock out. Of course they also did a turtle head in the second half as they were gonna let their defense win it without making any mistakes on offense. We knew they were scared shitless then and that we'd come back and get them. We've seen many teams act like this in the past. We most often come from behind and win those games.

1) they've won so much I have thick skin when they lose, I'm just not going to sweat it. Can't win them all. Make no mistake, I want them to win this year, but if they don't so be it.

2) they always battle, they always come back, they're never eliminated without a fight. Even when they lost at Denver two years ago, they came back late but lost because they didn't convert a two point conversion.

I absolutely expected them to comeback

Seriously, what was more surprising to people

1) the Jaqs up by 10 in the fourth

2) the fact that the Patriots overcame a ten point deficit in the 4th?

I expect Brady to come back. If that makes me an asshole, then I'm an asshole

:)

Ok Willie, since the Pats always come back , should be a great 2nd half play on NE - 6 1/2 down 10 at half ? something you endorse ?
