You better hope the Eagles are not up double digits in the fourth quarter in the Super Bowl....there will be no coming back....ask the Vikings.....
Harry, how many times do the Patriots have to overcome double digit deficits in the 4th quarter? Even in the playoffs ?
The game is 60 minutes long, the Patriots win the last 15 or 17 or 30 or 32 minutes. They tend to finish stronger, and that's been especially true down the stretch this season.
The Jaqs leading in the 4th is no surprise, they played good and once again Bortles played like a great QB instead of one if the worst QB's in the league.
The Jaqs winning the 4th qtr would have a surprise
When a lot of people say a big underdog is going to win and they're betting them, what they really mean is "I like their chances to win better than the 21.6% that the oddsmakers give them"
That just doesn't sound nearly as cool when you're about to fire a big dog ML. So I think that is where the confusion comes from. Nobody actually would take the Jags with a gun to their head. They just like their chances relative to the market price.
It's just expressed more emphatically.
Oh I know. I took the Pats ML live in the 3rd quarter. I had little doubt they would win, even with Gronk out and down 10. I've learned from past mistakes. I have decided I like money more than I hate the Pats.
I'm just saying the Jags were game. I think you'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous for a good chunk of the 2nd half.
If you say you never overlook an opponent I don't get why you started this thread.
I started this thread because there was a movement around here telling us all the reasons the Jaqs were going to win Sunday
Tom Caughlin owns the Patriots
They were going to run the ball down their throats
Their defense was going to sack and rattle Brady
Probably the most SU predictions for a > TD dog in the history of this forum
I pointed out their QB sucks, although he had a great game and kept them in it
Their Defense has been torched, and they were torched again down the stretch even sans Gronk
and Brady and the Patriots are pretty good too, they have a shot to win
thought the Jaqs had to have a lot going for them to win, they couldn't have asked for more and still loss
Brady may have been impaired
Gronk was taken out in the first half, just when they started going to him
they win the turnover battle
Bortles played the game of his life
Bortles didn't make any mistakes
and they still lost
In fairness, he is overated.
They would get the same results with Case Keenum back there
