Box Office Mojo suggests 2,800 screens with 4,000 prints but as said, $10 million in advance presales during the weekdays so that's gonna take a chunk out of the weekend total.

The 3-day box-office-take could open anywhere between $15 to $50 million.

....could be an over/under $25 million.
....could be an over/under $30/35 million.

This could be easy. This could be hard to predict.

Good luck fellas.

Pretty sure they count the presales for the weekend g****. This one's kinda hard to predict, since you've got major hype surrounding a film that is of a theme that never brings is a lot of dough.

Last Tempation of Christ: TOTAL G**** 8 million and change. That movie had the same sort of controversy swirling around it leading up to it's release and didn't do squat at the box office.... this time around might be different? For one, the Passion looks slightly more accessible than Temptation. Mel Gibson is more of a pop icon than Scorsese you could say. People have liked the preview. Not sure if it matters, but the Last Temptation was 3 hours or so and Passion is just over 2. The pre-sales alone and the fact it's been #1 on moviefone for days now shows there's a lot more interest in this one... The moviefone chart would seem to indicate a 50 million dollar opening, which is probably way out of reach realistically.

I heard that they really updated the story for 2004

for example he changes the water to Cavarsier

he has a brother that defends him in the press named Jermaine Christ

after his 1st hearing ,he climbs on top of his donkey and does the moonwalk

when they talk about jesus ,they say "yeah hes rolling 13 deep with his apostles"

it is revealed that Pontius Pilate actually invented Pilates

I'll pass my thoughts on here as well...

Well, I've been told that Wed. will be the best day for this movie due to it being Ash Wednesday. This is the day Lent starts. The reason the movie opens on this day. It'll take a lot away from the weekend total. I think odds for the under might be something to consider... especially when 35 million could be made on Wed. and Thurs, leaving regular movie goers to watch it on the weekend.

Just a thought.

I might take 26m - 42million at Intertops for +135 because I get the extra Million that way.

Word on the b.o. message boards is that pre-sales have been strong for not only wednesday but saturday and sunday as well. Now, I'm not saying this is a lock, because certain areas are probably going to draw more interest than others, but, what one theater worker said was that they were doing better pre-sale business than the Star Wars films.

I must say... buzz is crazy.

Hey Oren, how about scoring some Theater Reports?

Also... I'm curious to why wsex didn't raise their over/under 41 million when it was getting nailed so badly. It got up to -190 Do you know what they opened at?
