iGlobalMedia is the company.

If you're interested in gaming industry investments, the London Stock Exchange and the LSE's Alternative Investment Market is where to find the companies.

To keep apprised of who is looking at going public, subscribe to the E-Gaming Review newsletter or check their news section periodically.

Egaming magazine.

Please use site promotions for gaming website links. Thanks, wil.

The only thing about gaming stocks are indeed they are flyin' high now but if the government declares it officially illegal, everything will come crumbling down and quick.

Wil, why is posting a link to an industry publication a site promotion? Can you post links to articles at the NYTimes, or news.com? What URLs are not allowed?

There aren't many companies you guys have heard of available to invest in. Sportingbet is one, SBT on the London market. Cryptologic, the software providers, are traded on NASDAQ with symbol of CRYP. A bunch of major British bookies are traded in London, but they don't operate books for Americans, companies like Stanley Leisure and William Hill.

Nigel Payne, the CEO of Sportingbet recently claimed he has heard of 15 companies planning to go IPO this year in the field, all because of the obvious high valuations. PartyGaming, the parent of Party Poker, has said they won't go public this year because they don't need the money and obviously want to generate an even higher valuation. Don't be surprised if they are patient and things continue that they reach a $7 billion value when they go public.

The UK looks very likely to pass the online regulations which will allow for US bettors. While all books and poker sites may not decide to go to the UK because of relatively high tax rates, the UK will clearly set the bar for regulation and just about every jurisdiction will follow allong and allow US bets in short order once it starts running. The US government won't be able to do a damn thing about online gambling in the very near future unless they really want to betray and piss off one of our best allies over something as trivial as online gambling.

Wil,

that's funny.
I have seen links to articles on my site posted by other people (included mods) and you cancel it when I post it myself.

I don't really care because I have no affiliations, banners or stuff like that...but maybe you can tell us which sites are permitted and which one are outlawed as I don't want to repeat the same error twice.

Thanks,

Pier

One more thing,

I've noticed that you reported an article from Forbes.

Did you ask them permission?
Do you know that you should give them a link? Just to put the name is not enough...

Perhaps I worded it like I was promoting the site rather than answering the question asked in the thread, my mistake.

EGR is an UK online gaming trade magazine covering not online gaming but online gaming companies -- mergers and acquisitions, earning announcements, regulatory changes, IPOs and public floats, etc. When Party Poker starts feeling around for going public, it'll certainly be news there.

If there are additional places to look for such info by all means post it here.

Adam,

the funny thing is that they report articles from other sites every day...maybe we need to make 5000 posts before being considered reliable...
