I'd like to get an idea as to how the forum feels about playing parlays. I like to play them every now and then, but I'm trying to come up with a strategy (if one even exists). If anybody has any questions or comments I'd really appreciate it. There are a lot of real good cappers in here, as well as knowledgable readers, so I figure with everyones input hopefully we can figure something out. Take care.

By the way tonights MIA/HOU under looks mighty fine.

Good Luck!

I like to parlay halves with full games. EX: Last night I watched the 1st Half of the Hou - Bos game...and the 1st half went over by a point. Since i bet alot of Rockets games I noticed that the game on Sunday night went over in the second half. So I parlayed the 2nd half under with the Kansas St and won.
I say 20% of my wagers are parlays. Keep in mind that I am a small player ($50 -$25)

Somebody in the forum gave me a quarter yesterday, so here is my 25 cents worth reagrding parlays:

If the events are UNRELATED....as in the outcome of one has absolutely no bearing on the outcome of the other....and assuming we are talking 11-10, 13-5 and 6-1 for straight, two-team and three team.....then (strictly mathematically speaking) your best value is 3 teamers, then straight bets, with 2 teamers being the worst. The math has been done before in many threads....in fact I think it is somewhere early in my "main" thread.

If the events are RELATED, that changes everything. For example....Utah leads Denver by 9 at halftime and Denver is -3 for the second half. If Denver covers for the second half, then the game is likely close and therefore might have a lot of fouling at the end or overtime, whereas if Utah covers then the game can't possibly be close and they are likely to D-up at the end. So now yuo are parlaying two related concepts and if you can spot these scenarios you may be able to overcome the extra "vig" you pay by laying 13-5.

I hope that made sense.........

ok, I got that. Thanks.

Now what if you have a strong feeling that say, MIA/HOU are going under. Now how would you feel about a two teamer taking MIA ATS and another two teamer with HOU ATS.

Both bets are for 100 units to win 260 units.

no because im assuming that your putting the Under with both teams, this means that you will win $160 if the under comes in, and you will lose $200 if it doesnt because both parlays will lose, in this case take the under on a straight bet and leave the sides alone, a loss is -$220 and a win is +$200 and not $160.. you cant out figure them.. im sorry if i read that wrong..

Forget it and play ML parlays..

Actually this is a great example.....but just to go "apples to apples"......

As SSI said, your downside if under loses and you play two $100 parlays is $200....and your upside is $160.

Risking the same exact $200 on a straight wager, your upside is $181.8

Doesn't get more clear cut than that.

If you give a peson a sure winner, outcoime assured, a lot of people would put it with another play to double their money. Parlays or sucker bets, not calling anyone names, when i was 17 1 worked with my uncle who gave me a dime for every dollar i brung in on a card. I would watch him grade the cards on monday, 1000.00 cards and sometimes no winners. I play one play a day and have hit 15 of my last 20.

NEWPORT is the PARLAY player

Yes it takes much resilliancey, and I have it

Over the past 3 years since off shore became big, Two firms I know about 5dimes and betcris

PAY TRUE ODDS ON PARLAYS. I hope you understand what that means, if not someone else can type it to you. But since true odds payouts I have made yearly money on 3-4-5-6 team parlays with small money, and big true odds payouts with DOG money lines. It is like being in sales,

DO you have a sales job where you run around taking small orders from a lot of customers all week long and at the end of the year with your worn out shoes have small rewards to show for it

or

DO you work in a high teck Biotech or Medical Research selling enviroment where 6 sales every 6 months makes you 6 figures.

Well I am not making 6 figures gaming, but I am sure having fun parlaying dog money lines with regular straight plays.

Oh one thing I forget, when I hit a big payout, I then switch over to slamming dimes down on the offshore, to really take the $$$$

Hey that is the world I LOVE to live in

NEWPORT. as Raiders says..."If you are not living on edge, then why bother living"

Also why play nickel dime nickel dime or whatever to come out 3 grand up at the end of the year. Time invested is not worth 3 grand
