Since the topic was brought up about whether maybe MOTHERS Day had an influence on players(which I doubt), I thought I would share with you a tidbit I have used for 20+ years in NCAA football with very good results.
Every year, almost EVERY NCAA team has what they call PARENTS DAY at one of their designatied home games.
Each year, I make note of which teams do this and mark it on my calendar.
There is no doubt in my mind that this HOME team gives just a tad extra effort in these games and thus gains one gains a small advantage on the bookmaker and the general public in general.
Anyway, this is most certainly something that as a handicapper you should be aware of.

PS- The late great JACK PAINTER suggested this idea to me around 1985 and I have always been aware of this ever since.
Rest in peace J.P.
