As good as Papelbon looked, Pineiro looked twice as bad. I know Timlin will be the set-up man when healthy, but they need a better bridge from starter to closer.
Remember when he used to be the hottest pitcher in baseball? He was such a great starter for a short while there. He had a crazy sick low ERA. like 1.80 or something.Pinero couldn't hit the strike zone. It was awful to watch. He was all over the place. I don't know who they have in middle relieft but it seems to be their weak point this year. They can't have Papelbon come in the 8th often.
He doesn't want to start. He needs to learn one more pitch IMO to become a starter.
