Panaca is expensive but you get a lot of bang for the buck, almost too much for one day.
They were still working the kinks out when I brought my kids there about 6 months ago. i.e. They weren't sure which price to charge me. (Note: If you're going to fuc* me, don't call a supervsor right in front of me to ask which price to charge the Gringo.) They still had one large attraction under construction and a good chunk of their landscaping wasn't done either. It was hot as hell too, very little shade when walking and it was probably 3 kilometers (perhaps more?) that you had to walk around to get from attraction to atraction which is no piece of cake when you're dragging three toddlers and bitchy wife with you.
Now the good. The attractions were well laid out and there was lot's to do. My kids rode water buffalos, horses, fed the lambs, fed the pigs, we raced with the pigs, the kids got to ride on the traditional Costa Rican ox carts (Sorry the name escapes me), the kids loved the dog tricks, they were loving the rodeo tricks, they were impressed by "King Kong, the biggest horse in Central America" (Which coincidentally is what I call my johnson, but that's a different post).
All in all we felt we got our moneys worth even though it was expensive, but it was just a little too much fun for one day. By the end we were hoping they would just get it over wth so we could go home because we were so bleached out from the sun, dusty and tired.
