:ohno: dumbass evangelicals

Another Wasilla resident, Phil Munger, a music composer and teacher, says she pushed an evangelical agenda in the town. "She wanted to get people who believed in creationism on the board. I bumped into her after my band played at a graduation ceremony at the Assembly of God . I said, 'Sarah, how can you believe in creationism - your father's a science teacher.' And she said, 'We don't have to agree on everything.' I pushed her on the earth's creation, whether it was really less than 7,000 years old and whether dinosaurs and humans walked the earth at the same time. And she said yes, she'd seen images somewhere of dinosaur fossils with human footprints in them."

Mr Munger also asked Mrs Palin if she believed in the End of Days, the doomsday scenario when the Messiah will return. "She looked in my eyes and said, 'Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime'."

GTC put down the Nation Enquirer for a few minutes

The funny thing is the National Enquirer is usually the magazine that breaks the story first...

Ex: John Edwards affair

Sling enough shit to the wall and something will stick. I loathe sensationalism so fuck the Enquirer and all the fat, malcontent, pathetic wastes of flesh that read them. They want to live vicariously through other people meanwhile their kids are attention deprived mutants who will do nothing in life monumental except lower the the stupefying standards already set forth by their **** of a mother and lackey of a father.

Also, she (Palin) is a moron, what would you expect. Hell im Jesus. Why does no one believe me? Because...maybe....just maybe logic seeps in enough to filter that out, but not enough for books that were written thousands of years ago. Dinosaurs wlaking with humans, are you fucking serious?

No one laughed at Noah when he was building the ark because it is a ficticious event that never truly occurred.

Admittedly, there's been plenty of us who have laughed our asses of in the past several millenia at the silly ass fairy tale of "Noah and the Ark", but that's a separate guffaw.

As for the "30 year" claim, I've been hearing that claim since I was a tot back in the early 1960s and so far the goofs making that claim are at least 20 years behind.

Of course that's all just fundy Christian sillyness because as my own Christian minister(not a fundamentalist sect) likes to remind us, "Jesus is not coming back, because Jesus never left us"

Let's stop all this nonsense and instead go directly to the Bible, which is the only true authority... and what God says is that Christ will come again like a thief in the night. There is no debating this.

When exactly that will happen, no one knows nor should any Man profess to have the answer, but what is certain is that everyone will know at that exact moment when He has come again. While I certainly believe in End Times theology, I can't say for sure whether we're in it now, though I'd like to think we are.

OH the 1960's? that was so long ago.

Thus the Comedy Gold when someone says back in 1962 (as you did earlier in this thread) that "Jesus is coming back in 30 years".

By 1993, 1994 I suddenly snapped to the fact that they were full of shit.

And then, as I became acquainted with more spiritually sound Christian ministers such as the woman who leads our congregation here in Clearwater, I learned that Jesus in fact never left. He, as well as anyone else who has ever lived on Earth, is fully accessible to those who wish to have contact and who have sufficient faith that such contact is available Right Now.

The Holy Bible of course is not the "only authority" with regard to teaching spiritual truths. I find it mildly distressing that so many of my fellow Christians have blocked themselves off from the many other Master Teachers who have followed in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Their works and their writings are thankfully available to us via a bevy of great sources and venues.
