Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency, even as news reports surface that some McCain staffers think she was a liability.

Only 20% of GOP voters say Palin hurt the party’s ticket, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Six percent (6%) say she had no impact, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65% who say their view is Very Favorable. Only eight percent (8%) have an unfavorable view of her, including three percent (3%) Very Unfavorable.

When asked to choose among some of the GOP’s top names for their choice for the party’s 2012 presidential nominee, 64% say Palin. The next closest contenders are two former governors and unsuccessful challengers for the presidential nomination this year -- Mike Huckabee of Arkansas with 12% support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 11%.

Three other sitting governors – Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota – all pull low single-digit support.

it really makes no difference what the GOP voters think of Palin. it's the independent and undecided democrats that flat out rejected her and she cost McCain votes.

if the GOP wants to keep their heads up their asses and run her in 2012 they'll be lucky to get 35% of the vote.

sarah palin is an idiot and it's sad you can't see that.

I hope she runs in 2012 = another landslide for Obama

I remember when she was first selected by McCain ... all the Bible thumpers around here were claiming that Obama supporters were "jealous" ...

Well, while I hope that the GOP changes and becomes a viable national party within a couple of years to put a check on the Liberals, I fear that until and unless Palin gets her ass handed to her in a general election, the Bible thumpers will not shut up.

From the Washington Post:

The campaign was charged for silk boxer shorts, spray tanners and 13 suitcases to carry all the designer clothes, according to two GOP insiders.
"The shopping continued after the convention in Minneapolis, it continued all around the country," one source said. "She was still receiving shipments of custom-designed underpinnings up to her 'Saturday Night Live' performance" in October. Sources said expenses were put on the personal credit cards of low-level Palin staffers and discovered when they asked party officials for reimbursement.
SILK BOXER SHORTS?????? Who the fuck would want silk boxers?????

Only for her, Cincy. Don't know why, but in the last year I've had a thing for glasses.
