While she understands Sarah Palin has only served as governor for two years, Stebing is disappointed she hasn't done more to improve the lives of Alaska Natives, many of whom live in remote, poverty-stricken areas. They are places where some are so poor they lack running water and sewage and must carry out their human waste in large pails called "honey buckets."

Stebing hopes whoever wins in November will address the dire needs of rural Alaska Natives.

"That we have that here in Alaska really bothers me," she said. "This is the 21st century."

Oh sure, they just became poverty stricken in the two years since Sarah Palin was elected Governor. It's all her fault. Maybe the rural Alaska natives could take some responsibility for improving the lives of the rural Alaska natives after all of these centuries of living like this.

So on the one hand she gets criticized for not doing enough to bring these people into the 21st century, and on the other hand she gets criticized for not doing enough to protect these wonderful "tribal cultures".

GIVE ME A FRIGGN BREAK, WILLYA PLEASE!!!

Sarah Palin's husband and all their children have Native American blood in their veins. If any Alaskan governor ever was an advocate for Eskimo & Inuit concerns it's Sarah Palin.

This Stebing character and those who attribute truth to her ramblings are ridiculous & subject to ridicule & if I wasn't such a good guy I'd be ridiculing them now.

Maybe the Inuits and Eskimos referenced are happy with the way they live.

Why must we superimpose our way of life on every culture in the world?

WOW....

Are the reservations considered "Federal Grants"? We have some of that same stuff happening in Mississippi..Oh, have you seen the state of affairs in Illinois politics?

Can we see an article about how good Illinois is doing fiscally and employment wise?

If you can produce ONE single shred of positive politics, economy or legislation in Illinois, I will vote for Obama.

Nuff said.
