I am not hating on this program. But no reason to be paying for fitness advice with the internets. There are tons of good sites to find out anything and everything about fitness.
Even youtube has some decent stuff for those that don't want to read.

It's not about paying for advice...the great thing about these videos is that all you have to do is pop in a DVD or watch from your computer and follow the program as it goes. A lot of people don't have the motivation or the knowledge to be able to go to a gym and get a great workout.

These video programs do wonders for a lot of people, and when you can get them for free.....it's worth a shot.

It's a great program if your out of shape or in "Biggest Loser" shape.

Diet is 90% of all programs. I don't care how much one works out, if your diet is not in check any program will fail!

I did P90X for a few weeks thanks to my friend cut-paste-hommie who hooked me up.

Personally, I like going to the gym, but I did like the program a lot and what I do is that I combine some of the exercises in P90X with the stuff I do regularly at the gym.

Smartest post of the entire thread so far!

P90x is like any other workout out there meaning you get what you put into it. If you push yourself hard enough doing anything you will get results. The good thing about P90x and the reason so many people get results is they can do it all from home and they have someone there telling you exactly what to do. It's not a magic pill by any means.

Furm, glad you found Insanity. I tried it for 2 weeks and lost too much weight too quickly, way too much cardio (not to sound like a broken record). My shirts are drenched after it though, again I like it maybe once or twice a week tops.

For those worried about if P90x is too intense, I think Furm said you can modify the workouts to work for you. There is always at least one woman doing the workouts so if they can do it, so can you. You will get better at all of them over time.

A little over an hour some days, a little less than an hour other days. One day off every week.

My biggest downfall is I like food but I eat healthy pretty much with 2-3 times a week eating anything I want (within reason).

I'm not a fan of a strict diet where you eat shit you hate, those are the diets that will fail. Eat what you want within reason, workout hard, results will comes. Once you see good results, you'll want to eat better, workout harder, and the rest falls in place.

I agree. You can spend hours everyday playing and studying a sport and your improvements will be only 10% of what it could be if you don't watch your diet. But if you eat like the pros, you'll be 90% of the way without ever practicing it once

P90x has got me out of a plateau and boring gym routine I found myself in. Although I mix it up with my gym stuff like Jack , Mostly because of the friends I have at the gym and I like going there, I would definitely recommend trying each cycle, 3-1 week cycles to see where and what your limits are. Diet by far is the most important aspect to any regular work out plan, but everyone should eat healthy anyway. Enjoy it and X is for extreme haha

Where do you find these workout bands? I don't think the wife will like me setting up a pull up bar in the living room.

Everything you would need is at Wal-Mart. The pull up bar comes down once you are done. It just fits over the door frame. The resistance band I got at Wal-Mart is braided and is one of the more heavy duty ones. It was $13.99. The pull up bar Jack posted above is $28.99 if I'm not mistaken.

I really don't know or care the kind of shape that you guys are in.....This is WORTH your time to at least try.

Summer is around the corner, and you will feel so good about yourself if you can get through it. I did 2 sessions (plyometrics (very, very hard) and Kenpo) today, and I'm hurting like hell right now, but it was worth it. These videos are absolutely no joke.

I hope that we can keep this thread going, and I would love to hear the progress or what you guys think.

Day 3 in the books. Did Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X and about 30 minutes of Yoga to prepare myself for tomorrow. It will be my first time doing a Full yoga session, so I wanted to get prepared for what it's gonna be like.

Shoulders and Arms were a nice change up from the Plyo yesterday...I could hardly walk down the stairs this morning my legs were so spent.
