ATL -1.28 Hampton/Abbott. Well we all know Mike Hampton, the most overpaid pitcher in the bigs. $12,975,288.00 per. For a brutal 5.11 ERA? However, he is on a team that scores, and owns one team, the Phillies. His two starts against them, 14.2 innings 12 hits, 1 ER. ERA vs. Philly 0.61 Is that weird or what? Take a long look at Phillies batting averages against him. This will be a standout in USA Today. Atlanta just playing well across the board, going 9-2 before break 3-1 after. 12-3 last 15. And Philly is coming off grueling 4 gamer vs. Mets. And they have a starter, that was released by the DRays, after getting hammered, every game. The 6.70 ERA sent him packing. His last start in Philly, where they are good, vs. Atlanta and Hampton, a 4-0 loser. He has yet to win a start for Phillies, going 0-3 since they dragged him off of discard pile. His last year ERA, a not bad for him 5.29. But in 2002 he carried a era of 11.96? It was like his arm died going big innings in 2000 and 2001 for Seattle. He so to bb ratio a joke, more walks, and has given up 9 HR's in 6 starts for Phils. Walks and HR's a bad combination. Sadly even his road splits are bad 8.01 ERA on road. These pitching matchup games really standout. I have seen -1.35 here and there already. It is going up in the slow hours. I guess shop for best opener...Best Wishes...OF

Thanks and GL, OF

Atlanta's 2 game home stand gives them a chance to move ahead of the Phillies, with whom they are currently tied in the NL East standings.

At present they are a significantly cheaper buy than the Phillies to win the NL East. Is this good value?

Woody, one thing to consider is Philly is struggling with the teams they have to beat to win division. They are currently 10-20 against Mets, Braves and Marlins, with those teams currently all scheduled for this run. Personally, I took Cards to win it all at 9-1. Just another team I now have. Whoever comes out on top of the 4 team race is anybody's guess. Cards seem to be Yanxs of NL. Just extending the lead in their league's best division. Woody no value for me with ATL futures.

JFS, you know me by now. Does not matter if you like Phils or Atl. I like Atl. I like betting against Phils, when they play ATL or Mets, FLA. 67% winner. Even better, they stink against lefties. Yesterday Leiter shut them down again. They have seen him 3 times, 18 innings, managed 1 run. Very similar pitching style to Hampton, same results, 14.2 innings 1 run. 2 starts. So against those 2, 32.2 innings 2 earned runs. That is a sub 0.60 ERA. And Phils big bats just hate lefties, very ineffective. There is a reason Hampton has a 0.61 ERA against them, and about a 6.00 vs. everyone else. With Chipper Jones finally finding his groove, the Braves are looking to lock in just another division title. Best Wishes...OF

OF, your success in handicapping the NBA has been noticed by alot of people, I havent seen that many predictions from you in MLB but it seems all the A game picks have come in. What sport would you say you have the most success in handicapping? If you say the NFL, I think there is going to be alot of people salivating here soon.

My bases A plays are usually well researched, very limited. To make them an A, they have to be without flaws. NBA playoffs are one of my best, always have been. NFL is my number one sport. College football higher win %. When I am rolling, football is my number one sport. I closed out 2004 NBA with 5 strong winning weeks. I closed out 2003 football with 11 stronger winning weeks. Football is my best sport. I put in a lot of hours, and have workers lifting every stone for more info. One thing I can say for sure. My A plays, are the real deal, in any sport. I rarely find a flawless play. One disclaimer, I have been inconsistent early foots. My best reads are 2nd half of NFL, last two thirds of colleges. Best Wishes...OF

Just like I said early in NBA playoffs. I am patient, my time always comes...

Pancho, I capped that one last night, at first the price attracted me to Mets. But after I capped it, FLA seems to be the side. Willis is really throwing well. I think Erickson is a huge question mark, well Willis is not. I think FLA -1.25 to -1.28 is realistic, possibly higher. Would not be surprised if it makes -1.30, but takeback should kick in if it does...Speculating for you Sancho, as for the side, a no play.

Does anyone know a website where you can access all the MLB scores for a particular day for every team, going back to 2003,2002 etc etc.,without having to look it up by individual team? I can only get cbssportsline to go back to the beginning of the 2004 season.

Hey Pancho, you like my line call? Made it to 1.30 at Pinny, got bought back to 1.26, within my go off range. 1.25-1.28. Decent travel, burst at end then takeback. Line movement calls make money...Best Wishes...oF

Braves just keep rolling even with overpriced stiff Hampton. Probably will not bet on him again this year? But this time again his team Philly, he was brilliant. They just cannot hit some lefties. Decent play, unfolded as planned. Line went way up, I think I saw +1.35, but just kept the Atl instead of scalp. Cigar, cognac, jacuzzi and rubdown, I think a Pancho Sanza cigar today...Best Wishes...OF
