Trusted sources inside OU's program have validated the supposed rumor. Here is a quote from soonerscoop.com

http://oklahoma.rivals.com/default.asp

Here's the latest news....so much for it being a rumor. The guy is hurt....the following is a quote from Cary Murdoch of Soonerscoop:

I can say with quite a bit of confidence that Gresham did suffer some type of injury in practice. What I can't say is if that injury happened today or yesterday.

I have received a couple of conflicting accounts from different sources close to the situation. I don't even know if the coaching staff knows for sure when this happened.

But apparently it is questionable enough to make you wonder how serious the injury really is.

I have heard a lot of different things as I have been tracking this down tonight. The most trusted source has said he is out 4-6 weeks and the staff hopes he will be back by the Texas game.

Others are saying he may be week-to-week.

I think the 4-6 weeks is most likely.

Every report I have heard says it is something to do with his meniscus. But at the very least, we can confirm that Gresham did suffer a knee injury in practice. The severity is yet to be determined. But the possibility of him playing this weekend against BYU is slim.

This just posted this morning on the Sooners website. LOAD UP ON BYU!

SoonerScoop has confirmed (this morning) Gresham has a knee injury & it pretty clear (based on their info) that it's a meniscus injury...they have multiple sources stating the coaches are hoping that Gresham will be back for the TX-OU game, estimated / realistic time he will be out is 4-6 weeks...there are other threads stating Gresham's injury could be a week-to-week type of thing...but the MODS have stated that's unrealistic based on the severity of the injury

i know of his pass catching skills but how good of a blocker is he?

OU has plenty of solid RBs, but will the inexperienced OL be able to open holes? protect the QB? was Gresham expected to help in those areas? or is he more of a receiver and less of a blocker?

By the title of this thread you would have thought he was in a terrible car accident or something. :ohno:

Demarcus Granger is also not going to play against BYU. I don't know that those guys injured is enough to make me play BYU, but it is certainly making me take a hard look at the under....

Well, if you're a die hard college football fan, and a Sooner in particular, you would consider this serious. As seen by the meltdown on soonerscoop.com

I do know that BYU +22 is a gift now. That really could be a ML game to look at now.

Gresham was good for 2 touchdowns and 75% of the offensive gameplan. If that's not a good enough reason, I don't know one.

I'm not saying BYU is going to win. I'm stating that the ML and the huge value on it is worth a very small play.

I don't think people understand the severity of this injury to this particular team. This guy is important...very important, to OU.

OU should have a nice running game and some other WRs and TEs to fill in. Not to mention a heisman winning QB to help guide the offense.

they will not lose this game

If JG is 75% of the gameplan, you may want to reevaluate if you should gamble or not.

BYU is not even going to finish ahead of TCU/Utah, but now they are going to beat OU tomorrow.

OU rolls here.

I will book your moneyline up to 1000. Put it in an escrow account today.

BYU currently at +1250 at the LV Hilton

I hope everyone else believes this as well and drives the spread down. I have just played a total so far but if it goes under 21 I'm going to jump on OU.

Gresham may have been good for 2 td's no doubt, but who cares ..Bradford will just sling it to someone else...or just toss it to Demarco...u know Murray is chompin at the bit to get back into the game...Nat'l Champ game would have been different if he had played....he and Madu will stand out more than the norm against a byu d that is no where near the level of the OU offense...and awhat good is max hall against a nasty top ranked ballhawkin OU Defense...OU wins by at least 24-28pts here

You shouldn't be gambling if you think Demarco Murray's absence had anything to do with the outcome of the game.

Hell, what would the game have been like if Percy was 100% vs maybe 70%?
