Oklahoma hasn’t played a team with a good defense yet...Bama hasn’t played a team with a good offense yet. One thing is for sure that Saban and his staff can coach circles around Riley and co. Murray has not had to play under pressure yet and there’s not a QB in the history of football who is good under pressure - if OU can give him time, they’ll cover and they just might win. You’ll know after a quarter.

This is a good thread with no bashing or trash talk and just good opinions. As many of you know my nephew was OU's ace for their baseball team and is now in the Washington Nationals minor league so i'm rooting for the Sooners. Thst being said, i'm one of the few people I talk too that doesn't hate Bama. I live Bama and how everyone is chasing them. Bama's defense is amazing. I don't know if i'm going to play this game but i'm learning under.

MG, you may be on to something with the Under. Bama needs to avoid turnovers and convert on 3rd downs keeping the Sooner
offense off the field as much as possible. My concern for Alabama is the kicking game where Oklahoma has a clear advantage.

If history repeat itself, Bama has trouble contain mobile QB that has great passing skills.... may see a shootout in 2H. If Saban learns from his lesson, he would step on the gas every chance he has instead of traditional control the clock.... why??? when you have the best QB in Bama's recent history.

Best offense in the land covered.
Bama is great but they are not gods like the poster claimed on this and other threads.
Saban outcoached his counterpart by a mile but Sooners still covered the ridiculous spread.

How was the spread ridiculous when Alabama was covering around 70 percent of the game? The spread was spot on. Could've gone either way and was decided by a late Oklahoma touchdown and Alabama drove to the Oklahoma 6 and decided to take a knee instead of running it in and getting another score that would have got the cover for Alabama. Not sure how in the world the line was ridiculous.

College football is in desperate need of some "good games" after having watched some of these early bowl games. Clemson vs Alabama should give us some relief.

curious to see how many “good games” we would have had if there was an 8 team playoff instead of 4. So far 8 of the 10 CFP semifinal games have been decided by double digits

Not much to rehash. My biggest worry was Saben doing something like taking a knee on the 6-yard line or a back door. That seems to be his thing. I thought Bama threw the ball more downfield then I believed they would. OU's defense was slightly better than I thought but still presented Bama no trouble moving the ball.

Bama loosened up in the 2nd half and let Murray run around more. That combined with taking a knee made it seem a little manipulated around the -14.

Clemson and Bama are the 2 best teams, best coaches, players, ect. Not sure Clemson has as much NFL talent as Bama to pull this one off. I think it comes down to the last play with either QB with the ball for the win.

Clemson has been my team all year, big Venables fan and defense. As expected ND was a little green squished bug on the windshield, that Clemson wiped away with ease.

This wouldn't solve the problem by going to 8. It actually could be worse.

Code-how much weight do you put on "fixed or manipulated" results

You played D-1 college right?

If there is a chance, maybe the guys here need to join together and figure
out what games are more likely to end in questionable results.

I was thinking the NFL national broadcast game of day, Sunday and Monday
night games, playoff games and SuperBowl.

College National broadcast games, conf title games, big bowls.

Figure how Vegas benefits the most on side and Totals
create a "consensus play" and see if numbers support what
looks more and more like questionable results.

Fixing or manipulating has to come from the very top, Head coach, OC or DC if it really happens. Bama controlled the game from start to finish. They could have scored at will, we all saw that. Bama was up 11 on the 6 yard line with 1 min. Saben takes a knee. Yes perhaps he's a gentleman and does not score or he is super cautious and does not take a chance on a turnover. This is not unusual for Saben.

On the field, I never got the sense that a defensive signal was called on purpose to put us in a bad position. It was always balls to the wall for 60 mins, I can remember getting screamed at for having poor technique on a tackle when we were up by 40 with less than 1 min.

That's what I like about Dabo or Venables. They will bury a team as they did vs Pitt and now ND. No fooling around. Bama clearly took it's foot off the gas on D and let Murray loose, it closed the gap allowing Saben to take a knee at the end.

BR is the closest thing I've seen to someone posting Vegas needs. Not sure how he gets it but does make sense when he posts. If Bama was manipulating the end, no one will ever admit to it. It has to be situational unless both coaches are in one it.

Thanks for responding. Sounds like not worth the effort then.

Good luck the rest of the Bowl season.

It that how it works? A team covers 70% of the game?

Oh, I will return my winnings.

Teams mostly ALWAYS take a knee when the clock will end the game, that is not a good point at all.

Bama got all the breaks and calls early, credit Saban they stunned the Sooners, but then it settled into reality.

I will always take the top offense in the NCAA and 14 1/2 points.

If they played again tomorrow, I would take Sooners + 14.5. (maybe they would put a safety or LB in the middle of the field this time).

This was a semi-final game so see logic in Saban's game plan of getting control, coasting and avoiding injuries especially to Tua. OU never got closer than 3 scores of winning game.

The goal is to win the Natl Championship.....not to bury OU and risk not being at full strength to beat Clemson.

Without Clemson on deck Alabama would have easily covered.
