Lawrence is safe for Texas, and much the better kicker. Stevens was very erratic for OU last year, and only made 1 fg from over 40 yards. Big advantage Texas here.
I went to the Spring game and both the PK and the Punter were not impressive. Definite weak spot. I have heard that a local PK is coming this fall that kicks it into the endzone regularly. That would help. Right now the kicking game is a question mark unless someone emerges. I would settle for a punter who could kick inside the twenty and keep it from going into the endzone. Stevens is very average at PK.
You mean the Spring game where the wind was blowing 35 MPH and gusting to 50? Yeah, that wasn't the best weather for punting or kicking hno:
Ryan Bailey has kicked 2 game winning field goals for Texas in harsh conditions, and could very well replace Lawrence if he should miss even 1 FG.
Texas's punter could very well be one of the biggest threats as far as punters go in college football. He's mastered the rugby kick with BOTH feet, so he can roll either way and get off a wonderful rugby style kick. Not sure what the poster above is talking about?
